2016 First Round NFL Mock Draft


The buzz of the NFL free agency period is beginning to wind down. The bigger names are already off the market and those that are left will likely be short-term fill-ins at best. Teams are now turning their attention primarily onto the draft. Positions that they were unable to fill in free agency will no doubt be addressed in the draft. As great as free agency can be, the better teams will unanimously tell you that the true building of an organization is through the draft. One selection can make or break a team for years to come. For the young men being drafted, it’s a total dream come true.

Trying to predict a perfect draft is about as easy as selecting a perfect bracket during March Madness. In case you didn’t know already, there won’t be any of those this year either. The so-called “experts” attempt to give us a good idea of what to expect on draft day but come draft day they are simple spectators just like the rest of us. If you don’t know by now the only expectation on draft day should be to expect the unexpected. Trades are bound to happen and there will be at least that one team in the first round that will make that WTF selection that could cause a domino effect. Plus, browsing through some of those mock drafts makes you wonder how much homework those “experts” have actually done on these teams. I’m looking at you Mel Kiper, Jr. Still, nothing screams football in the spring like an updated mock draft so here’s mine:
