2019 NFL Mock Draft

Picks 1-10

Arizona Cardinals

Nick Bosa – DE-OSU

2019 NFL Mock Draft

Nick Bosa is a slam dunk first overall pick for the Cardinals. Last year they grabbed their franchise quarterback now it’s time for a cornerstone on their defense. Bosa similar to his brother has fantastic size and speed as well as being extremely polished. Bosa can come in day one and make an impact for the Cardinals defense with the potential to be a perennial all-pro player.

San Francisco 49ers

Josh Allen– EDGE-KY

2019 NFL Mock Draft
Second overall may be a little high for Josh Allen, best case scenario is the 49ers trade back. If they do pick here and grab Allen he brings a ton of upside and pass rush ability. Allen blew up this season producing 17 sacks for Kentucky. If he is able to replicate it at the next level it could be huge for the 49ers defense. They’re strong up the middle which should make things easier for him to get to the quarterback.

New York Jets

Jonah Williams – OT – Bama

The Jets have a ton of cap space this year to improve their team through free agency and a lot of holes to fill. Possibly the most important is protecting their franchise signal caller Sam Darnold. What better way to protect his blindside by adding the massive left tack Jonah Williams. Williams is big, mean, and fundamentally sound and has been starting for Alabama since he was a freshman. Williams is an instant impact starter for the Jets’ offense at one of the most important positions in football making him a no brainer of a pick.

Oakland Raiders

Quinnen Williams – DT – Bama

2019 NFL Mock Draft
The Raiders have holes all over their roster and luck out here having the second best player in the draft fall to them. Don’t let the National Championship full you Quinnen Williams is a dominant force of nature. Williams lived in opponent’s backfield with 18 tackles for loss second in the SEC to only Josh Allen. The difference is that Williams did it from the defensive tackle position. On top of scary production, he ate up double teams allowing for the players around him to thrive as well. The addition of Williams to the Raiders defense not only improves their abysmal pass rush but makes their run game stout as well.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Greedy Williams –CB – LSU

The Bucs ranked 27th in pass defense and only had nine interceptions in 2018 and are desperate to improve. Greedy Williams is the long athletic type of corner that the Bucs can put on an island in man coverage. Coming at 6’3.Williams has the type of size that makes defensive coordinators drool. He’s extremely athletic and aggressive, not afraid to try to make a play on the ball. Greedy will get beat from time to time but the upside far outweighs the negatives in this situation.

New York Giants

Dwayne Haskins – QB- OSU

2019 NFL Mock Draft
Last year the Giants passed on their quarterback of the future for Saquon Barkley and while some people didn’t like the move he was absolutely electric. This year they fill that void with Dwayne Haskins. Although Haskins was only a one-year starter he lit up the NCAA throwing for 4801 yards 50 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions. Haskins is a throwback pocket passer who makes great decisions but isn’t afraid to take shots downfield. Once he gets ahold of the starting job in New York he has every opportunity a young QB could ever ask for to succeed which could pay huge dividends.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Drew Lock-QB-Mizzu

Drew Lock has all of the natural talents a team could want out of a quarterback, he’s big, strong and has a monster arm. That being said he is a bit of a project for an NFL team, Lock struggles with accuracy, this being his best year at 62.7 percent. Given the time Drew Lock could be molded into a decent starting quarterback the only issue is the Jags are desperate at the position and may have to force him to start early.

Detroit Lions

Ed Oliver – DT-HOU

2019 NFL Mock Draft
The football community has been waiting for Ed Oliver to go pro since he started college. Oliver is a big undersized for a defensive tackle but is incredibly explosive and has a great motor. Putting him next to a monster like Snacks Harrison will open it up for Ed Oliver to live in the backfield adding a great dimension to the Lions.

Buffalo Bills

N’Keal Harry- WR-AZ

Last year the Bills got their franchise quarterback in Josh Allen, now it’s time to get him somebody to throw to. Allen struggled with accuracy at times which makes a receiver who can go up and get the ball and win contested catches. As well as being one of the best-contested catch receivers coming out Harry is a monster with the ball in his hands not being afraid to run thru smaller defenders. Harry’s demeanor and play style is perfect for the city of Buffalo and will a welcome addition to growing with Josh Allen.

Denver Broncos

T.J. Hockenson – TE- Iowa

I hate seeing a tight end going this high in the draft but T.J. Hockenson is a special tight end. Hockenson is a savage run blocker who drives defensive ends into the ground. With the Broncos being committed to the run his ability as a blocker is huge. We all know though that doesn’t make tight end a first round pick, it’s the ability to make plays in the passing game, which Hockenson also excels at. This season he averaged 15.5 yards a reception and made plays all over the field and showed the ability to stretch the defense. Hockenson adds another young weapon to a Broncos team that may be a quarterback away from being a contender.

Picks 11-32

Cincinnati Bengals

Devin White – ILB – LSU

2019 NFL Mock Draft
The Bengals defense looked like a shell of itself without Vontaze Burfict manning the middle of the filed. Devin White is a completely different type of player and that’s not a bad thing. White is the new prototype of a linebacker, Devin White is athletic can go sideline to sideline and can cover. In a division with athletic quarterbacks and talented running backs, his versatility and athleticism are key for making this defense competitive.

Green Bay Packers

Clelin Ferrell-DE-Clem

Viewed as a top ten pick by most the Packers are ecstatic to see Ferrell fall to them. Ferrell led the Clemson defense in sacks the last two seasons which is extra impressive being it was the best front four in the country. The Packers defense needs pass rushers and Ferrell ends up being a steal for them.

Miami Dolphins

Cody Ford– OT- Oklahoma

The Dolphins roster is a mess and needs a ton of things including a quarterback. At this point in the draft that’s not a feasible thing nor is putting a young quarterback in this offense. Which leads to their biggest problem and that’s the offensive line. The Dolphins offensive line gave up the fourth most sacks in the league. Cody Ford is a great step in alleviating that problem, Oklahoma left tackle has been protecting the blindside of Heisman winning quarterbacks for the last two years and dominating his competition. Ford is a massive 6’4 337 pounds and fantastic as a run blocker. Adding him to the Dolphins allows them to move Tunsil back inside where he thrived vastly improving the left side of their line.

Atlanta Falcons

Christian Wilkins-DT Clem

2019 NFL Mock Draft

The second member of the Clemson defensive line to go in the last three picks is Christian Wilkins. The defensive tackle spent his season eating double teams allowing for them to dominate opposing offenses. His fit in Atlanta would be very similar, he would force the offensive line to double team him allowing all of the speed on the Atlanta defense to run free and make plays.

Washington Redskins

D.K. Metcalf

I’m not sure who will be throwing the ball in Washington next year but D.K. Metcalf gives them the Alpha receiver they’ve been wanting for years. Metcalf is an absolute freak of an athlete. He’s 6’4 230lbs and rumors are he’s going to run in the 4.4s. That elite skill set is everything you want in a receiver and if he proves to be healthy he could be an absolute star.

Carolina Panthers

Jachai Polite– EDGE-Florida

2019 NFL Mock Draft
The Panthers defense isn’t what it used to be and one of the things they struggled the most with is their pass rush. Polite is a little bit raw but extremely athletic and could be a devastating addition to that defense if he can put it all together. With one of the highest upsides in the draft, Polite will be a great addition.

Cleveland Browns

Byron Murphy-CB-Wash

The Browns roster is really coming around nicely and while I originally was thinking about a top tier receiver adding a second lockdown corner solidifies the defense. Pairing Byron Murphy with Denzel Ward gives the Browns one of the best young corner duos in the league. Murphy is an ace in man coverage who can mirror receivers. He also brings a little more size to the position in a division that includes A.J. Green and J.J. Smith Schuster which allows for Ward to cover the quicker receivers.

Minnesota Vikings

Chris Lindstrom-OG-BC

2019 NFL Mock Draft
The Vikings offensive line has been a point of concern for multiple seasons now and needs help especially in their run blocking. That’s where Chris Lindstrom comes in, he’s a plug and play guard who’s physical and finishes blocks. Coming from a run-heavy offense he can provide what the Vikings offense has been missing to try to get the line up to the standards of the skill position players.

Tennessee Titans

Rashan Gary– Edge- Mich.

The Titans just missed the playoffs last year and have a fairly well-rounded team which allows for them to take the best player available. Rashan Gary has unbelievable upside, he’s a freak athlete who at 287 pounds runs a 4.57 forty and has a 10-4 broad jump. This type of performance at the combine could shoot him up draft boards but at this point of the draft, he’s worth the chance.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Deionte Thompson-S-Bama

The Steelers have been trying to sure up their secondary for years now. Although they grabbed a safety last year they repeat again this year with the loss of Morgan Burnett (requested a trade). Thompson is not only a fantastic athlete but is sound and versatile as a defender. He’s long, he can cover, has ball skills and a solid tackler. In nickel sets Thompson can play in the box as well as line up deep if needed. He’s the type of player the Steelers need to get their defense in check.

Seattle Seahawks

Noah Fant-TE-Iowa

2019 NFL Mock Draft
The Seahawks offense recently has been run the ball and chuck the ball up deep with no real in between. Fant adds a nice weapon to their offense. Fant is big, athletic and can work all areas of the field in the passing game. Not only has that he added a much needed red-zone threat with 18 touchdowns over the last two seasons. Russell Wilson completed 50 passes to the tight end position comprised of a bunch of no names, this will give him some much-needed talent.

Baltimore Ravens

Kelvin Harmon-WR-NCST

The Ravens receiving corps was in pure disarray last year and will be completely rebuilding it this year. Kelvin Harmon is the type of Alpha receiver to give Lamar Jackson the type of target he needs. Harmon is fantastic in contested catch situations, knows how to manipulate the sidelines and can win 50/50 balls. A receiver like this is just what Jackson needs to build his confidence throwing it up. As an added bonus Harmon is one of the best-blocking receivers in the draft and will be a great addition to help the Ravens run game.

Houston Texans

David Edwards-OT-Wisc

2019 NFL Mock Draft
The Texans need to protect DeShaun Watson and their line has been atrocious all season long. DeShaun Watson was sacked a league-high 62 times on a year coming off of a season-ending injury, this is unacceptable. While he may be a little bit raw David Edwards is an absolute monster at 6’7 219 pounds. He has the length and power to be a bookend for the Texans offensive line.

Oakland Raiders (CHI)

Brian Burns– EDGE-FLST

The Raiders defense ranked dead last in the sack department last year with 13 sacks. Eleven players individually had more sacks than them. They started working on it at pick 4 with Quinnen Williams. Now they are adding EDGE rusher, Brian Burns. Burns is the complete opposite of Williams and brings speed and bend off of the edge with the ability to quickly get to the quarterback. While Burns is undersized he has the explosion and hand usage to allow him to be an impact edge rusher.

Philadelphia Eagles

Nasir Adderley-S-Del

2019 NFL Mock Draft
The Eagles pass defense was decimated by injuries, even with the corners being injured they still had a glaring hole at free safety. Adderley is an absolute playmaker at the position who knows how to go and get the ball. Adderley possesses the ability to play up high, man cover and is a solid tackler. His versatility will allow the Eagles to run more exotic defenses and use him as a chess piece.

Indianapolis Colts

Hakeem Butler-WR-IOST

The Colts already have a Pro-Bowl receiver in TY Hilton, who’s a speedy field stretcher. Hakeem Butler is the perfect complement to that coming in at 6’6! Butler’s massive frame and catch radius make him un-guardable in 50/50 ball situations. Not only is Butler a great big threat but can spread the field averaging over 22 yards per reception. Butler adds a fantastic weapon to an already potent offense.

Oakland Raiders (DAL)

Josh Jacobs- RB-Bama

This pick is far from a need but with John Gruden there and his love of old school football, it could happen. Josh Jacobs is a complete back who runs with power, speed, and vision. Jacobs is a fantastic receiver and devastating blocker, everything an old school coach would look for.

Los Angeles Chargers

Devin Bush– ILB- Mich

2019 NFL Mock Draft
Devin Bush is an undersized linebacker who fits perfectly to what the NFL is doing now as well as what the Chargers showed in the playoffs this year. Bush excels running sideline to sideline and in coverage which fits perfectly with the versatile, the Chargers have on defense. Having a linebacker who can stay on the field all three downs is essential and will add a strong piece to an already good defense.

Kansas City Chiefs

Montez Sweat-OLB-MissSt

The Chiefs offense is one of the best in the league meaning it was their defense that cost them in the playoffs. The biggest issue in the playoffs was the ability to get to the quarterback, this is where Montez Sweat comes in. Sweat has 30 sacks in the past two seasons and is an absolute powerhouse coming off of the edge. Sweat has an explosive first step that helps put him in the right position to get to the quarterback which is exactly what the Chiefs need.

Green Bay Packers (NO)

Hollywood Brown-WR-OKLA

2019 NFL Mock Draft
Last year the Packers drafted three receivers in the later rounds who were all big bodied guys who struggled to find a place in the offense as well as Randall Cobb who is a free agent. What better way to open up the offense than give Aaron Rodgers a receiver with game-breaking speed. Hollywood is in a class of his own this draft for speed and explosiveness and being paired with Davonte Adams will leave him single covered over and over again to take the tops off defenses.

New England Patriots

Kyler Murray-QB-OKLA

We all know Tom Brady is coming back next year but he has to retire someday right? Kyler Murray is incredibly talented but very raw. Sitting behind Tom Brady for a year or two would be perfect for him to learn and hone his skills as an NFL quarterback. With his size limitations and baseball question marks, the Patriots are the perfect team to take the risk which could pay off huge dividends.

Los Angeles Rams

DeAndre Baker-CB-Georgia

2019 NFL Mock Draft

The Rams are the cream of the crop in the NFL on both sides of the ball but have a lot of one-year deals on their defense. DeAndre Baker is a well-rounded corner who can play in press-man or zone who has a knack for the big play. Baker could step in as the number 2 corner right away replacing Marcus Peters who struggled in coverage this season. Even if Peters is resigned in today’s NFL you can never have enough corners and Baker could be the future number one on their team.
