…And the Odds Are: NFL Week 3 Picks

With the recent legalizing of sports betting in the U.S., we will start to see an influx of sportsbooks and casinos online in the near future. Its an exciting time for anyone interested in online sports betting and gambling.TIP: Its important to read reviews of any casino or sport betting platform before choosing one. Periodically throughout the NFL season, I will give you some of my top picks in the NFL starting with Week 3.

Green Bay Packers (-3) @ Washington Redskins

The Packers come into Washington fresh off their tie with the Vikings in Week 2, while the Redskins are still smarting from their embarrassing loss to the Colts in their own place. The Redskins defense comes into the game as the leagues No. 1 ranked pass defense, but don’t let that stat fool you. They held the Cardinals to 152 passing yards in Week 1, but the Cardinals look like they could be the leagues worst offense. The Colts last week only had 177 yards last week, but it could have and should have been much worse as the Redskins continually failed to keep the Colts from converting third downs. In other words, the Redskins have not seen an offense as good as the one they are going to see on Sunday.

Aaron Rodgers has been nothing short of spectacular this season, leading a game-winning drive in Week 1 on one leg, and leading what should have been a game-winning drive in Week 2 if not for a perfectly called time-out before the successful game-winning field goal. Aaron Rodgers is upset with himself that he was unable to beat the Vikings in both regulation and again in overtime of last week’s game. Expect him to come out firing and look to jump on the Skins early.

San Francisco 49ers @ Kansas City Chiefs (-6.5)

The spread on this game opened up at 5.5 and has risen to 6.5, and it may go up a little more before Sunday. I love the 49ers if the line moves up any higher than 6.5, but even at its current line, I’m still taking them. The Chiefs offense is explosive, as we have seen over the first two weeks, but on the other side of the ball, quite frankly, they are terrible. Their biggest weakness is in the secondary, especially if safety Eric Berry misses another game. I think the 49ers defense is the best defense the Chiefs have seen so far this year, which isn’t saying much, but I think they are able to slow them down enough, while Jimmy G and the offense will be able to move the ball and eat up the clock.

Keeping the Chiefs offense off the field will the 49ers gameplan coming in, and head coach Kyle Shanahan will draw up a game plan that will do just that. The 49ers are hoping to get No. 1 WR Marques Goodwin back this week, which would be a big boost to this offense and the surprise of the season, the NFL’s leading rusher through two weeks, Matt Breida, will be an important piece to keeping the Chief’s offense on the sideline. Take the Niners plus 6.5.

L.A. Chargers @ L.A. Rams (-7)

The Chargers are getting zero respect with this spread and the line has already started to move down. Take the Chargers plus the 7 with confidence. The Chargers defense is better than they are getting credit for and will get better if LB Joey Bosa can get on the field. The Chargers are the ninth-ranked defense through two weeks, and that includes a game against the Chiefs when they exploded for 38 points. The Chargers will be able to slow down the Rams to some extent and the Chargers offense, with Melvin Gordon having a good start to the season, will be able to move the ball against this stout Rams defense. This game should come down to a FG. Take the Chargers plus the seven.
