Saint Louis Cardinals at Pittsburgh Pirates

Both of these teams aren’t likely to make the playoffs and this series is practically meaningless in the grand scheme of things. The Cards resign Yadier Molina on another 1-year deal for one last chance at a ring. The Cards are 4-6 in their last 10 games with a record 64-62 overall.

Happ (7-6) will get the nod to start. The 38-year-old veteran has 219.1 innings under his belt with stats of 5.88 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, 173 K and 68 BB. Impressive for his age.

The Pirates took game 1 of the series at home with an epic comeback late in the game scoring 8 runs in one inning to win 11-7. The Pirates are 47-81 going 5-5 in their last 10 games.

The Pirates will send out Peters (0-1) to the mound. With only 9 innings this year, he has put a 1.86 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 6 K and 4 BB.

The odds are not out but I can assume the Cards will be the slight favorite. The Cardinals should win this game after getting embarrassed in the 7th inning and will look for some payback.
