What’s up guys! 14 games to kick off your weekend let’s check out some of the top stacks to target for Friday, May 19th!
It seems like I mention Arizona guys every article, but they just have too many weapons and every single batter in their lineup continues to demolish right-handed pitching. Goldschmidt, Drury, Lamb, Peralta, Pollock all hitting .300+ against righties this year. Padres owner Ron Fowler said this week that Jerad Weaver is on a very short leash and he’s about ready to release him unless he can improve significantly. In his last two starts at home(even though PetCo is a huge ‘pitchers park’) Weaver has given up 17 runs in just 7 innings pitched. The D-Backs hit 3 long bombs off him earlier this month, so even with Pollock out, gotta give love to the cheap Arizona stack tonight against Weaver.(Keep in mind that San Diego also has worst bullpen ERA in N.L.)
The Stack: Lamb, Owings, Drury, Goldschmidt, Peralta
Vegas opens up the bidding here at an over/under of 9.0 runs scored, which is the highest on the slate. Both pitchers are prone to giving up the long ball, and Tyler Anderson is very close to losing his job in the starting rotation. Anderson comes into this match up with an ERA of nearly 7.00…and I know what you’re thinking “But it’s because of Coor’s right?”…. Nope. In Anderson’s 4 starts away from home he has given up 6, 4, 4, and 5 runs, he just hasn’t been able to get right-handed hitters out. The Reds have surprisingly been one of the better offenses in the National League and have a loft of hitters than can mash lefties, Duvall, Cozart(.417!!), Mesaraco, Suarez all hitting .300+ against lefties this year. This game should be a slugfest tonight in Great American Ballpark.
The Stack: Duvall, Cozart, Suarez, Hamilton.
Kansas City Royals
It’s true…after winning the World Series just two years ago, the Royals have been the worst offense in baseball by a long shot this year, but if MLB daily fantasy has taught us anything it’s that we have to have short memories and learn to forget quickly. The Royals are actually on a bit of a hot streak, winning 6 of their last 9 games and putting up a ton of runs in the process. Hector Santiago takes the bump for MIN tonight and the Royals have had a lot of success against him in the past(Escobar 10 for 24, Cain 7 for 19, Hosmer 9 for 28, Gordon 3 career home runs) A KC stack looks really good tonight in Target Field (Twins Bullpen ERA also 4.72)
The Stack: Moose, Hosmer, Cain, Escobar
St. Louis Cardinals
One of the crazier stats in 2017 is looking at Matt Moore’s home vs away splits Home games = 2.57 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, .217 BAA. Away games: 10.50 ERA, 2.17 WHIP, .370 BAA. He is literally a complete 180 degree player on the road(almost to Jekyll and Hyde proportions) The Cardinals have been one of the better hitting ball clubs in the N.L. as they have 4 regular rotation guys hitting above .300 this year. For fans of BVP, St. Louis also makes a great case as a sneaky GPP stack tonight, as they have a career lifetime batting average of .385 against Moore. STL mixes and matches their lineups different every day and even I can’t keep all their rotations straight, so make sure to check lineups before lock.
The Stack: Fowler, Grichuk, Sierra, Molina, Gyorko
