For today, July 10th, fantasy owners will have the opportunity to play two evenly split slates, with six games in the afternoon slate(starting at 3:05 Central Standard Time) and six more games in the main slate(kicking off at 6:15 CST). Just like the even split of games, the pitching “aces” are also well divided.
Pitchers
Top-tier
Walker Buehler(Dodgers) $9600 vs Diamondbacks 8-1 record with 2.49 ERA/0.92 WHIP on the season. Despite recent inconsistency(two out of his last three games scoring 15.3 FPTS or less), Buehler is my top choice on this slate.
Freddy Peralta(Brewers) $9200 vs Reds 7-4 record with a 2.23 ERA/0.90 WHIP. Despite the tough matchup, Peralta will look to continue his current seven game streak of scoring 16.6 FPTS or more.
Others I Like
Zack Greinke(Astros) $7500 vs Yankees 8-2 record 3.64 ERA/1.12 WHIP
Afternoon
As previously mentioned, there are several good pitchers who will toe the rubber as part of this slate. These pitchers include: 1) Lucas Giolito(White Sox-$10300 @ Orioles); 2) James Kaprielian(A’s-$9200 @ Rangers); 3)Trevor Rogers(Marlins-$8600 vs Braves); and 4)Marcus Stroman(Mets- $8100 vs Pirates).

Javy Baez(SS-Cubs) $4300 vs Cardinals has scored at least 11 FPTS or more in five out of his last eight games. Baez enters the game with a .233 batting average and 21 home runs with 56 RBI’s on the season.
Nolan Arenado(3B-Cardinals) $5500 @ Cubs .265 BA/17 HR/55 RBI’s

Stacks
Afternoon
My two favorite stacks in the afternoon slate are the White Sox and the Red Sox. The White Sox travel to face the Orioles(Thomas Eshelman), while the Red Sox host the Phillies(Matt Moore). Both Eshelman(7.16 ERA/1.71 WHIP) and Moore(5.60 ERA/1.60 WHIP) have proven to be very favorable matchups for opposing hitters.
Main
The most favorable stack for this slate is the Cardinals. The Cardinals visit the Cubs(Zach Davies). Davies has decent stats(4.29 ERA/1.42 WHIP), but is only one of two pitchers (Vladimir Gutierrez being the other) that have an ERA above 4.00. This slate is one in which the DFS player will have to find value in hitters despite facing difficult opponents.
