MLB DFS Pitcher Chart & Lineup Advice – 4/30/2017

Top Plays
Dallas Keuchel
Keuchel has pitched very well to start the year, scoring at least 20 DK points in each start this year. He’s thrown at least seven innings in each start. While he doesn’t have the strikeouts I like for GPPs, I will likely roll Keuchel out in cash games for the price.
Noah Syndergaard
I’m not sure if Syndergaard is healthy or not, which makes me worried to use him in cash games, but he’s the best pitcher on the slate, and carries the most upside. The Nationals are a solid offense and don’t strike out often, but Syndergaard is so talented, I’m not sure it matters. I’ll likely have exposure to Syndergaard in GPPs, but may look elsewhere in cash games.
Freddie Freeman
Freeman is a lock for me in cash games again. He’s crushed the Brewers so far and faces Matt Garza today. Garza isn’t the pitcher he used to be and his strikeout percentage has decreased in three straight seasons. The Braves are tied for the second highest team total on the day with 4.5, but even that seems low to me. I’m expecting another big day from the Braves, and from Freeman.
Yankees Righties
Wade Miley is pitching above his head this year. He has a career 18.8% strikeout percentage, but has a 31.4% strikeout percentage in four starts this year. He has a career .306 BABIP, but just a .189 BABIP this year. I’m expecting significant regression for Miley, and I’ll be loading up on Yankees bats in tournaments. In cash games, Didi Gregorious, Matt Holliday and Starlin Castro are in consideration at their prices.
Salvador Perez
Perez will face Phil Hughes and is just $3,300 on DraftKings. I like the price, and it always helps that Perez hits fifth in the order. Perez has six home runs this year, and Phil Hughes has given up at least 1.48 HR/9 in four of his past five completed seasons. Perez has the second highest home run projection among catchers today, and for his price, I’ll have a ton of exposure to him in both cash games and tournaments.
Notes
I’ll keep riding the Mike Moustakas train until his price is higher. At this rate, I’ll be playing him the whole season, but he’s just $3,100 facing Phil Hughes.
Mike Leake is a solid SP2 option on DraftKings. While he doesn’t strike a lot of batters out, he’s fairly safe at his price.
Khris Davis is a fantastic GPP play against Dallas Keuchel, and I’m even considering playing both Keuchel and Davis in my cash games.
