Top Plays

Madison Bumgarner

Bumgarner gets to face the lowly Padres offense today. This is a great matchup, but I’m usually stuck deciding between Clayton Kershaw and Bumgarner. Today, however, Kershaw is stuck in Coors field, so Bumgarner is the top option. Kershaw is actually projected slightly higher, even in Coors, so he make for a fantastic tournament option.

Coors Field Hitters

With Kershaw on the mound, I don’t want to pay up for the Rockies bats, even in Coors Field. Jon Gray is also a solid pitcher, but I’m much more likely to try to fit Dodgers lefties in my lineups. My top targets from this game are Corey Seager, Yasmani Grandal and Joc Pederson.

Rougned Odor

Odor seems underpriced for his talent and matchup. I wish they would bat him higher in the order, but at the 5 spot, he should be able to knock in some runs. The Rangers have a high team total and Kendall Graveman has a very low strikeout rate (13.7%).

Kris Bryant

Bryant will face a weak lefty in Tommy Milone. He’ll play in a great ballpark for power and the Cubs have a high run total. The fact that he qualifies at multiple positions on DraftKings makes him easy to fit in your lineup, even at a high price.

Freddie Freeman

Freeman will have the platoon advantage against Chad Kuhl. I’m sometimes hesitant to roster Freeman since the surrounding offense doesn’t provide much support, but at his cheap price, he has a great shot to make my lineups.

Notes

It looks like DraftKings has underpriced Giants hitters due to the change in ballpark. Belt and Posey are interesting at their prices.

Kyle Hendricks is likely to be my SP2 on DraftKings.

A.J. Pollock continues to be a great play for his price.

If Jarrod Dyson leads off, he’ll be a fantastic value play.
