MLB DFS Pitcher Chart & Lineup Advice – 5/11/2017

Last Updated: 5/10/2017 – 9:21 PM CT

The pitcher chart is located under my top plays!

Top Plays

JC Ramirez

All of the top pitchers on the slate have either tough matchups, tough parks, or both. Since it is a Coors slate, I’m going to likely choose the best expensive option after lineups come out tomorrow and then pair that pitcher with JC Ramirez. The reason why I’ll likely play Ramirez is I don’t like any pitchers at the top, so paying down allows me to load up on Coors bats. I’m not necessarily excited to roster Ramirez against the Tigers, but he has some things going for him. He’s tied for the lowest OTT (see pitcher chart) on the slate, even with some aces pitching. He’ll face a Tigers team who take a huge park hit traveling to Angel Stadium, and the Tigers strike out 22.1% of the time against righties. Ramirez is also just $6,800 on DraftKings.

Eduardo Rodriguez

While it didn’t work with Drew Pomeranz on Tuesday, I’ll trust the process and pitch Rodriguez against the Brewers. Rodriguez won’t have to face a DH, and will face Jimmy Nelson instead. The Brewers strike out 24.8% of the time against lefties and Rodriguez has a 30.3% strikeout rate this season. Again, the Brewers have a high wRC+ against lefties, so this is just a GPP play, but Rodriguez is my favorite GPP pitcher if you’re playing the all-day slate.

Dylan Bundy

Bundy will face the Nationals and will face A.J. Cole instead of a DH. He’ll also get a park upgrade from Camden Yards. Pitching is ugly today, so spending down is the way to go. Bundy has some strikeout upside, costs just $7,500 on DraftKings and is a slight favorite in this game. He’s projected as the second-best value pitcher on the main slate behind Derek Holland and just ahead of JC Ramirez.

Coors Bats

We have another Coors game, and Nolan Arenado is the top hitter on the slate facing Hyun-Jin Ryu. Both the Rockies and the Dodgers play a ton of lefties in their lineup, so it’s not ideal that there are two lefties on the mound. Because of this, I’ll be watching lineups closely to see if we can get a righty leading off or hitting at the top of the order for the Dodgers. If Kike Hernandez leads off, he’ll be a great play at $3,800 on DraftKings. Justin Turner is my favorite GPP option as most people will play Arenado over him for just $200 more. Ian Desmond, Mark Reynolds, Trevor Story and Yasiel Puig will all be very interesting if the hit in the top five of the order.

David Peralta

The Diamondbacks top hitters saw their prices jump from yesterday except Peralta. His priced jumped just $100 on DraftKings making him a fantastic play today for the price. Assuming he hits second, he’ll be locked into my cash game lineups. He’s simply too cheap facing Gerrit Cole in Chase Field. The Diamondbacks have a team run total of 4.5, and Peralta will have the platoon advantage.

Nelson Cruz

Cruz was out of the lineup yesterday with hamstring tightness, but assuming he’s the DH today, I’ll have him in my lineups. He’ll face Marco Estrada in the Rogers Center.  Cruz has the highest home run projection on the slate, and at just $4,200 on DraftKings, he actually makes for a great value play.

Notes

Derek Holland is a very interesting GPP play at his price considering the top options on the slate are all in bad spots.

A.J. Pollock saw his price jump, but is still a great play against Gerrit Cole, who struggles to prevent stolen bases.
