MLB DFS Pitcher Chart & Lineup Advice – 6/13/2017

Top Plays
Clayton Kershaw
Kershaw will venture into the American League to play against Cleveland. This isn’t the best matchup for Kershaw as he’ll have to deal with a DH and he gets a park downgrade. Cleveland doesn’t strike out much, but they rank just 23rd in wRC+ against lefties. This will likely be one of the lowest projections for Kershaw throughout the year, but he’s priced reasonably, and I don’t love any other pitchers on the slate. With an OTT of three, I think the run prevention will be there, but the strikeouts could limit Kershaw’s upside.
Jon Lester
Lester hasn’t been great recently, but he gets a solid matchup against the Mets. He’ll get a park upgrade and will face a team full of lefties. The Mets are middle of the pack in both strikeout percentage and wRC+. With Lester priced at only $8,800 on DraftKings, it’s hard to pass him up as an SP2.
Miguel Sano/Brian Dozier
Sano will take on Christian Bergman in Target Field. The Twins have a team run total of five and Sano has a huge home run projection. Bergman doesn’t strike out a lot of batters, which I’m always looking for when considering Sano. He’s a bit expensive on DraftKings, but I’m willing to pay the price today if I end up fading Kershaw. Brian Dozier has a slightly lower home run projection, but I like him for the same reasons.
Mookie Betts
Betts gets a great matchup against Ben Lively. The Red Sox have a team run total of 5.5, highest on the slate. Betts should be able to put five balls in play since Lively doesn’t have a high strikeout percentage and Betts doesn’t strike out much. He’s one of the safest cash game plays on the day. His price is still sub-$5K on DraftKings, making it easy to fit him in today.
Miguel Cabrera
There are 38 first baseman priced higher than Cabrera on DraftKings. He’ll face Zack Greinke, but he’s just $3,500. At worst he’s a great tournament play, but I’m considering him in cash games as well due to the depressed price.
Notes
Jharel Cotton looks like a solid SP2 on DraftKings for just $6,400 if you are passing on Kershaw.
Even though I like Cotton, Giancarlo Stanton is my favorite tournament play of the day at $4,600 against Cotton. Stanton’s coming off of a wrist injury, so I may not play him in cash games, but he has the highest home run projection on the slate.
