MLB DFS Pitcher Chart & Lineup Advice – 6/19/2017

Top Plays
Clayton Kershaw
Kershaw will face the Mets in Dodger Stadium. The Mets project poorly against lefties and strike out 21.6% of the time, 12th highest in the league. They also rank 23rd in wRC+. Kershaw is priced reasonably at $13,500 on DraftKings. He will be locked into my cash game lineups and a staple in my tournament lineups as well.
Jon Lester
Lester will face the Padres in Wrigley Field. The Padres have the sixth highest strikeout percentage against lefties and the worst wRC+. This is a fantastic matchup for Lester, so if the wind cooperates in Wrigley, he’ll be a top tournament play. I want to do what I can to get to pair Lester with Kershaw in cash games, but I’ll need some value bats to be available. Pairing the two aces gives you just $3,250 per batter, but if a few punts open up, it may be possible.
Kris Bryant
Bryant has a ton of upside in this matchup. He’ll have the platoon advantage against Clayton Richard. He has the second highest home run projection on the slate. We don’t have a team run total for the Cubs yet, but I’m guessing it will be relatively high. Bryant is priced at $4,600 on DraftKings. He’s a great tournament play and will be locked into my cash game lineup if I decide to pair Kershaw with Jake Odorizzi instead of Lester.
Brandon Belt/Giants
The Giants are simply too cheap. They face R.A. Dickey in a hitter friendly environment in SunTrust Park. On paper, the Giants are a fantastic tournament stack, and many, especially Brandon Belt, should be in your cash game lineups. The Giants have a team run total of five, second highest on the slate. My two concerns are, there seems to be a team letdown after playing a series in Coors Field, which is the case with the Giants in this game. The other concern is I have a hard time stacking against a knuckleballer in cash games because if Dickey has good knuckleball movement, the Giants could struggle.
Evan Gattis
Gattis has seen his price drop $1,200 in the past week. He’s underpriced at $2,900 on DraftKings and should be strongly considered for your cash game lineups. He’ll face Daniel Gossett in Oakland. Gossett isn’t a great pitcher and the Astros offense has been as consistent as they come in DFS. If Gattis is hitting fourth or fifth, he’s a lock in cash games as he should be able to drive in some runs and has the highest home run projection among catchers.
Notes
If enough value doesn’t open up, Jake Odorizzi will likely be my SP2. Even though the Reds add a DH, they take a huge park hit traveling to Tropicana Field.
