DFS MLB FanDuel Cash Lineup Advice 06/06/2017

Welcome to the Tuesday edition of the MLB Fanduel Cash Game Article. Tonight he have an excellent 15 game slate. As always, please make sure you check the weather and the team lineups as they are released. Let’s go ahead and take a look at my favorite cash game options for tonight on FanDuel.

Pitcher

Chris Archer TB: $10,700 vs. CHW
This matchup between Chris Archer and Jose Quintana will likely draw more scouts than fans at Tropicana Field, since both pitchers will likely be dealt sometime before the trade deadline. Archer has always pitched well at home in a favorable park for pitchers and tonight he has a great matchup against the White Sox. The White Sox rank 28th in wRC+ and 8th in K% against right-handed pitchers this season.

Max Scherzer WAS $11,900 @ LAD
I prefer the savings of Archer in cash games tonight, but I cannot ignore Max Scherzer. The 2016 NL Cy Young pitcher is pitching great again this season with a 11.64 K/9 and a 2.56 ERA through his first 11 starts. The Dodgers have been solid against right-handed pitchers this season, but at the same time they strike out quite a bit with the sixth-highest K% against right-handed pitchers this season.

Catcher

Willson Contreras CHC $2,500  vs. MIA
I know that the wind is howling in again at Wrigley tonight, but the Cubs showed last night that their right-handed bats are still capable of hitting a couple of home runs with the wind blowing in. Although I haven’t statistically analyzed it yet, I believe that the huge scoreboard that they added in leftfield a couple of seasons ago could possibly diminish the impact of the wind at times. Willson Contreras has been solid against left-handed pitchers this season with a 0.380 wOBA and a 0.191 ISO. Jeff Locke made his first start of the 2017 season last time out, but in 2016 he was awful against right-handed hitters, allowing a 0.372 wOBA.

Salvador Perez KC $3,000 vs. HOU

Salvador Perez has been crushing right-handed pitching this season with a 0.349 wOBA, a 0.245 ISO and a hard contact rate of 40.7%. There’s not much to really go off of for David Paulino, but his minor league numbers suggest that we shouldn’t completely avoid him tonight.

First Base

Lucas Duda NYM: $2,900 @ TEX
Lucas Duda has been crushing the ball over the past couple of weeks with six home runs and a hard contact rate of 58.1%. The Mets get a great positive park shift from Citi Field to Globe Life Park and Dillon Gee has struggled against left-handed hitters over the course of his career.

Joey Votto CIN: $4,100 vs. STL
Joey Votto is almost always a solid cash game option with a decent floor since he takes a lot of walks. Adam Wainwright has been pitching better as of late, but he’s still allowing a hard contact rate of 34.1% against left-handed hitters this season.

Second Base

Jose Altuve HOU: $3,900 @ KC
If you can afford to pay up for Jose Altuve, then you should definitely do it in cash games tonight. Altuve has been on fire over the Astros’ 11 game winning streak with 18 hits over that span. Jake Junis will be making his second ever MLB start tonight. His numbers have looked good in the minors, but with how hot the Astros have been, I’m not looking to avoid him.

Neil Walker NYM: $3,100 @ TEX
Another Mets’ hitter we can use tonight against Gee, is Neil Walker. Walker has been solid against right-handed pitchers this season with a 0.200 ISO.

Third Base

Jake Lamb ARI $3,900 vs. SD
Jake Lamb hasn’t hit a home run since the D-Backs’ second game of the road trip that they just completed. Lamb is probably eagerly looking to return to Chase Field, where he has a 0.383 wOBA and a 0.295 ISO this season. Dinelson Lamet has looked good through his first two career MLB starts, but he has struggled against left-handed hitters so far and tonight will be by far his most difficult matchup.

Mike Moustakas KC: $3,100 vs. HOU
The Royals have struggled this season on offense, but one of their bright spots has been Mike Moustakas. Moustakas has been excellent against right-handed pitchers this season with a 0.374 wOBA and a 0.270 ISO.

Shortstop

Carlos Correa HOU: $4,400 @ KC
Similar to Altuve, Carlos Correa has been on fire over the Astros’ 11 game winning streak. It will be difficult to pay up for both in cash games tonight, but if you don’t use Altuve at second base, then you must use Correa at shortstop.

Chris Owings ARI: $2,700 vs. SD
If you’re going the value route at shortstop tonight, consider using Chris Owings. Similar to Lamb, I’m sure Owings is looking forward to returning home. Owings has a 0.391 wOBA and a 0.188 ISO in 109 plate appearances at Chase Field this season.

Outfielders

Jay Bruce NYM $3,600/ Michael Conforto NYM $4,000/ Curtis Granderson NYM $2,700 @ TEX
All three Mets’ outfielders are in play tonight against Gee, but obviously you cannot use all three and both Duda and Walker in the same lineup on FanDuel. You’ll just have to figure out which ones best fit the team that you build tonight.

David Peralta ARI: $3,200 vs. SD
If you can’t tell, I really like the Diamondbacks at home tonight against Lamet. David Peralta is another D-Backs’ hitter who has been outstanding at home this season with a 0.387 wOBA and a 0.194 ISO.

Albert Almora Jr.: $2,100 CHC: vs. MIA
If you’re looking for a punt option in the outfield tonight, consider using Albert Almora. Almora hit a home run last night and had a huge pinch-hit on Sunday night against the Cardinals. Almora is a solid ballplayer, but he just needs more consistent at-bats to really prove himself. He should get another start tonight against the lefty, Locke, who I already mentioned has struggled with right-handed hitters. If for some reason Almora does not get another start, you can always pivot to Rickie Weeks who is also $2,100 tonight.
