DFS MLB FanDuel Cash Lineup Advice 06/20/2017

Welcome to the Tuesday edition of the MLB Fanduel Cash Game Article. Tonight he have an excellent 15 game slate. As always, please make sure you check the weather and the team lineups as they are released. Let’s go ahead and take a look at my favorite cash game options for tonight on FanDuel.

Pitcher

Chris Sale BOS: $11,700 @ KCI
Clayton Kershaw may be the best pitcher of this generation, but Chris Sale has been the best pitcher in all of baseball this season. Sale currently has a 12.36 K/9 and a 1.77 FIP this season. Tonight he has a decent matchup against the Royals who currently rank 25th in wRC+ against left-handed pitchers.

Ervin Santana MIN $9,000 vs. CHW
I advise you to use Sale tonight in cash games, but if for some reason you would like to go a little cheaper consider using Ervin Santana. Santana has already faced the White Sox twice this season and he has absolutely dominated them with zero earned runs and 12 strikeouts in 15 innings of work.

Catcher

Willson Contreras  $2,500  vs. SD
The Cubs have been experimenting with Anthony Rizzo leading off which has moved Willson Contreras up to a premium spot in the order. Contreras has been hot over that time span too with with seven hits, including five extra-base hits, over his last 20 plate appearances. Tonight he has a decent matchup against Jhoulys Chacin who has been a lot worse on the road compared to his pitcher friendly home park.

Mike Zunino SEA $3,400 vs. DET
I don’t normally recommend spending this much on a catcher who hits near the bottom of the order, but Mike Zunino has been red hot. Over the last week Zunino is hitting 0.421 with eight extra base-hits, including four home runs. Tonight he has another solid matchup against Jordan Zimmermann, who has been terrible against both right-handed and left-handed hitters.

First Base

Justin Smoak TOR: $3,500 @ TEX
Justin Smoak is another hitter who has been swinging a hot bat and he has absolutely smashed right-handed pitching this season to the tune of a 0.384 wOBA and a 0.315 ISO. Tonight he has a great matchup against Nick Martinez who has really struggled with the long ball this season, allowing a 2.17 HR/9.

Cody Bellinger LAD: $4,000 vs. NYM
I know he is really expensive, but there is not a hotter hitter in all of baseball right now. Cody Bellinger has nine home runs in his last nine games including a pair last night against the Mets. Robert Gsellman has been pitching much better over the last month, but he did just get lit up by the Nationals his last time out, allowing seven runs and two home runs.

Second Base

Scooter Gennett CIN: $2,400 @ TB
I know that this power surge that Scooter Gennett has been on over the last few weeks is not a real thing, but as long as he is hitting in the two-hole and priced at only $2,400 I’m going to take advantage of it. Tonight he will face Alex Cobb, who on the surface has not been terrible against left-handed hitters, but he has allowed a hard contact rate of 42.2%.

Brian Dozier MIN: $3,500 vs. CHW
If you’re spending up at second base, Brian Dozier is the way to go. Dozier has absolutely crushed left-handed pitchers this season and over the course of his career. Derek Holland on the other hand has really struggled against right-handed hitters this year, allowing 0.378 wOBA and a 42.1% hard contact rate.

Third Base

Travis Shaw $3,400 vs. PIT
Travis Shaw has been great for the Brewers since they acquired him last offseason from the Red Sox. Against right-haned hitters this season, Shaw has a 0.389 wOBA and a 0.254 ISO. Chad Kuhl had a decent outing last time out, but he has really struggled against left-handed hitters this season allowing a 0.423 wOBA. Also, he will have a negative park shift going from PNC Park to Miller Park.

Jedd Gyorko STL: $2,800 @ PHI
If you go the value route at third base tonight, consider using Jedd Gyorko. He has been much better against right-handed pitchers this season and Jeremy Hellickson has been a reversed-splits pitcher for most of his career.

Shortstop

Francisco Lindor CLE: $3,300 @ BAL
Francisco Lindor has been better from the right-side of the plate this season, but he’s still providing plenty of power from the left side as shown by his 0.222 ISO. Chris Tillman has absolutely terrible against left-handed hitters this season, allowing a 0.451 wOBA.

Elvis Andrus TEX: $3,000 vs. TOR
Elvis Andrus has been better against right-handed pitchers this season, but he has not been bad by any means against righties and he’s still hitting in the middle of the order against them. Francisco Liriano has really struggled with his command against right-handed hitters this season, allowing a ridiculous 6.81 BB/9.

Outfielders

J.D. Martinez DET $3,700/Justin Upton  @ SEA
J.D. Martinez and Justin Upton have both  always crushed left-handed pitching over the course over their careers. Tonight they have a decent matchup against Ariel Miranda, who has an incredibly high 54.7% fly ball rate against right-handed hitters this season.

Lonnie Chisenhall CLE: $2,700 @ BAL
I already mentioned how we can pick on Tillman with Indians’ lefties and Lonnie Chisenhall is a cheap one who we can use. Chisenhall has been hitting well over the past week and yesterday he moved up to fifth in the order.

Gregory Polanco PIT: $2,800 @ MIL
Gregory Polanco has not been lighting the world on fire, but his price makes him an intriguing option tonight. He normally hits third in the order for the Pirates and Zach Davies has been brutal against left-handed hitters, allowing a 0.377 wOBA. On top of that, Polanco and the Pirates’ hitters have a nice, positive park shift from PNC Park to Miller Park.
