DFS MLB FanDuel Cash Lineup Advice 08/29/2017

Welcome to the Tuesday edition of the MLB Fanduel Cash Game Article. Tonight we have a full, 15 game slate. As always, please make sure you check the weather and the team lineups as they are released. Let’s go ahead and take a look at my favorite cash game options for tonight on FanDuel.

Pitcher

Chris Sale BOS $10,900 @ TOR
Chris Sale was roughed up last time out against the Indians for his shortest outing in his career. Other than the two starts against the Indians in August, Chris Sale has been the best pitcher in all of baseball this season with a 2.07 FIP and a 12.77 K/9. Sale has pitched twice against the Blue Jays this season and in those two starts he has thrown a combined 15 innings with 24 strikeouts and zero runs allowed.

Matt Moore SF $8,500 @ SD
If you want to go the value route tonight, consider using Matt Moore. Moore has been pitching better lately, earning a quality start in each of his past three starts. Tonight he has a golden matchup against the Padres, who rank 30th in wOBA and wRC+ and third in K% against left-handed pitchers.

Catcher

J.T. Realmuto $2,800 @ WAS
Edwin Jackson has been decent so far through seven starts with a 3.38 ERA. However, his 5.44 FIP suggests that a falloff is coming and I believe it could happen tonight against the Marlins. J.T. Realmuto has been decent this season and he should have plenty of RBI opportunities tonight since he typically hits right behind the Marlins’ big bats.

Evan Gattis $2,500 vs. TEX
Evan Gattis has been better overall against right-handed pitchers this season, but he has hit for more power against left-handed pitchers as shown by his 0.232 ISO. Tonight he has a great matchup against Martin Perez who has allowed a 0.364 wOBA and a 37.1% hard contact rate against opposing right-handed hitters.

First Base

Joey Votto CIN: $4,200 vs. NYM

Joey Votto is always a great cash game option. He not only has the ability to smack a home run or two, but he is also patient enough to draw walks to prevent you from having a goose egg in your lineup. Tonight he has an outstanding matchup against Chris Flexen who has allowed a 0.389 wOBA to right-handed hitters.

Matt Carpenter STL: $3,700 @ MIL
Similar to Votto, Matt Carpenter is typically another great cash game option since he has the patience to draw walks. Carpenter currently has a 0.367 wOBA and a 0.215 ISO against right-handed pitchers. Tonight he has a decent matchup against Matt Garza, who has allowed a 0.362 wOBA against opposing left-handed hitters.

Second Base

Daniel Murphy : $3,100 vs. MIA
I write the Monday value article over at FantasyPros and yesterday in my article I mentioned how it doesn’t make much sense for FanDuel to price Daniel Murphy so low right now. Murphy has been outstanding this season and he’s too cheap to ignore in a great matchup against Vance Worley tonight. He’s a definitely lock for my cash game lineup tonight.

Jose Ramirez : $2,900 @ NYY
Jose Ramirez is starting to come out of his August slump with seven hits over his past five games, including two home runs last night. Ramirez has been solid against left-handed pitchers this season with a 0.347 wOBA and a 0.185 ISO.

Third Base

Manny Machado $3,900 vs. SEA
If you’re spending up at third base and Nolan Arenado is a little out of your price range, consider dropping down slightly to Manny Machado. Machado has had a great August with a 0.413 wOBA and a 0.330 ISO. Tonight he has a great matchup against Erasmo Ramirez.

Travis Shaw MIL: $3,300 vs. STL
Travis Shaw has had an excellent season and he has been absolutely outstanding at home against right-handed pitchers with a 0.396 wOBA and a 0.275 ISO. Luke Weaver has been solid in his time at the MLB level, but I don’t think we should completely avoid him tonight.

Shortstop

Trea Turner WAS: $3,500 vs. MIA
Trea Turner is coming off of the disabled list today after spending time on there with a wrist injury. He was not great in his rehab plate appearances, but I think this salary is too cheap to ignore for someone in a great matchup and  with the stolen base upside that he owns.

Didi Gregorius NYY: $3,200 vs. CLE
Didi Gregorius has had himself a really nice season and has been solid against right-handed pitchers this season with a 0.366 wOBA and a 0.228 ISO. Tonight he has a decent matchup against Trevor Bauer, who has allowed a 0.359 wOBA and a 1.75 HR/9 to opposing left-handed hitters.

Outfielders

Justin Upton DET: $4,400 @ COL/Gerardo Parra COL: $4,000 vs. DET
I don’t think it’s necessary to spend up in the outfield in cash games tonight since the position is littered with great value options. If you spend up, I would recommend doing so with bats at Coors. Both Justin Upton and Gerardo Parra are in play, but I give the slight edge to Upton who does have the easier pitching matchup tonight.

Billy Hamilton CIN: $2,800 vs NYM/ Cameron Maybin LAA: $2,600 vs. OAK
A couple of cheap bats who are in great spots tonight are Billy Hamilton and Cameron Maybin. Both individuals have great matchups, hit at the top of the order of their respective team and have the ability to steal multiple bases in any given night.

Ben Gamel SEA: $2,000 @ BAL/ Chris Young BOS: $2,300 @ TOR
If you’re looking for an option towards the minimum salary tonight, consider using Ben Gamel and Chris Young. Gamel had a huge game last night and has another solid matchup tonight against Dylan Bundy. Chris Young has smashed left-handed pitcher over the course of his career and tonight he will face a weak one in Brett Anderson.
