DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice 1/22/19
I hope everyone enjoyed or at least was not too horrified by the NFL’s Conference Championships on Sunday. After taking a day off here, I am back with some picks for a light Tuesday slate. Just because the slate is light does not mean there is not value to be had and money to be won, now on to the picks.
Top Plays
Karl Anthony-Towns (10,600 DK) @ Phoenix
Second straight T’Wolves-Suns tilt, second straight game picking KAT. In Sunday’s contest KAT put up 61 fantasy points in a hard fought game against the Suns. Whether or not DeAndre Ayton and/or Richaun Holmes return for Phoenix, I have no reason to believe we are not in line for a repeat performance.
Luka Doncic (8,400 DK) vs. L.A. Clippers
Luka Doncic is as good as advertised, if not better. Luka put up 52 fantasy points against the Clip Show in an earlier meeting this season, and save for a tough outing against the Pacers has a floor around 45 points per game. At 8,400 you could do a lot worse than Luka Doncic.
Value Plays
Wesley Matthews (4400 DK) vs. L.A. Clippers
When it comes to DFS I have a weird relationship with Wesley Matthews. I rostered him several years back in the game he blew out his knee. I would up finishing 9th, had he played the whole game I likely would have won. Anyway, his consequences were a lot worse than mine and he has returned, and been a solid contributor for the Mavericks for several years. In a pace up game against the Clippers with Dennis Smith Jr.’s status still up in the air, Wesley Matthews should easily hit value.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (4600 DK) @ Dallas
With Lou Williams continuing to deal with hamstring issues, SGA is in line for a lot of minutes for the Clippers. While he greatly disappointed to the tune of 15.5 fantasy points against the Spurs on Sunday, he is in a decent enough spot to hit value against the Mavs. Getting more value guys in your lineup is essential if you want to pay up for the likes of Westbrook, Paul George, and KAT, so SGA as ugly a pick as he can be, could be your guy.

Buddy Hield (6900 DK) @ Toronto
I like Buddy Hield, he can score in bunches and is exciting to watch. Whether or not Kawhi Leonard plays, the matchup against the Raptors is not a good one for him and one would be better served spending their money elsewhere.
De’Aaron Fox (7300 DK) @ Toronto
While his price is down, a grinding/physical team like the Raptors is not a good matchup for De’Aaron Fox. Paying up for Kyle Lowry or paying down for Derrick Rose is probably a better move here. De’Aaron Fox is capable of surprising, but I just don’t see it in this game.
