DFS NBA DraftKings Showdown
That game a few nights ago was a rough one for me. Ibaka and Mirotic killed all my lineups as I had at least one of them in all my lineups, and I wished I had a piece of Brook Lopez in at least one lineup. Oh well, no sense crying over spilled milk, on to tonight’s slate…

Captain  | Serge Ibaka $6,300
I know, I know, I know. Why in the hell would I want to use Ibaka in the Captain spot? Let me explain. First, the Raptors in Game 1 only played eight players and four of their five starters played 40-plus minutes — Danny Green being the exception, playing only 35. Ibaka led the bench with only 17 minutes. Why is all that important, you ask?
They gave up a 15-point 4th quarter lead, that’s why. They were tired and Brook Lopez went bonkers on them. They can’t afford to play their starters that many minutes and expect to win very many games. Okay, I still haven’t answered the question, “Why Ibaka?”
In the four games during the regular season, Ibaka owned the Bucks. He had games of 37.5, 44.8, 44.5, and 45.8 DK points against the Bucks this season. He is also a better defender on the perimeter then Marc Gasol is, so if Lopez decides to go “Steph Curry” again, Ibaka should be the one defending him.
It’s a reach, I know, but in a Showdown playoff game, you have to reach sometimes. I wish I had reached for Lopez in Game 1.
Nothing But Net | Giannis Antetokounmpo $11,800
I’m not going to waste any superlatives on this guy. He is the best player on the floor, no disrespect to Kawhi Leonard, and he needs to be in your lineup. Period.
Dunk | Malcolm Brogdon $7,000
Brogdon played the most minutes he has played in a game (27) since early March when he played 29. He will likely continue to come off the bench in Game 2, but he is capable of putting up a solid stat line, especially at his depressed price of 7k.

Half-Court Shot | Nikola Mirotic $4,800
Mirotic played 25 minutes and was solid in Game 1, which kept his price sub-5k. I think Mirotic is going to have one of those classic Mirotic games soon, the ones when he can’t miss. I’m not sure if it will be in this game, but I’m going to keep playing him until it happens, especially if his price stays where it’s at.
Blocked Shot | Brook Lopez $6,600
Don’t chase points. Let everyone else chase that 57 DK point game. It’s not going to happen again, I’d bet my life on it.
