DFS NBA FanDuel Lineup Advice 1/8/18

What’s up, everyone. In case you didn’t know, I usually take Sunday’s off from putting up any NBA content, so I apologize if you came to the site looking for some. Monday brings us a nice sized 8-game slate. Plenty of options for us to look at.

I will try to get my spreadsheet posted by noon and instead of a separate post, I’ll likely add it to this one, so be sure to check back if the spreadsheet isn’t linked below…

NBA DFS Legend

Nothing But NetMy top plays of the night at his position.
DunkA Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside.
Half-Court ShotOtherwise known as a “punt play.” A Low-priced, high-upside player.
Blocked Shot A player I’ll be avoiding. Otherwise known as “Fading.”

Point Guard

Nothing But Net | Stephen Curry $9,800 vs DEN

Let me get this straight, a guy averages over 52 Fanduel points per game over his last four games, just dropped 63.7 on the Clippers, and he is priced under 10k tonight? Curry, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant are all listed as probable, I’m expecting at least one to them to sit. As long as it’s not Curry, fire him up.

Dunk | Jamal Murray $6,800

He has cooled off a bit after his two straight 40-plus Fanduel point games, but his price has also dropped accordingly. Tonight he gets the fifth worst team defending the point guard in a game that will a pace up game for him. His $6,800 price tag gives him some nice upside.

Half-Court Shot | De’Aaron Fox $5,500 vs SAS

There isn’t a lot to like in the value range for point guard tonight, but Fox has put up two straight games with at least 26 Fanduel points. As expected, the Spurs are tough on point guards, but Fox’s price tag makes him an interesting low-owned GPP punt play.

Blocked Shot | Kris Dunn $7,500 vs HOU

Very simply, he will draw Chris Paul’s defense.

Shooting Guard

Nothing But Net | Victor Oladipo $9,400 vs MIL

Much like Curry, Dipo should not be priced under 10k, but because he is, he becomes a great play. He came back from a four-game absence and dropped 57.7 Fanduel points on the Bulls. The Bucks play tough defense, but Oladipo’s usage will get him enough volume to justify rostering him.

Dunk | Andrew Wiggins $6,400 vs CLE

Wiggins had nearly fallen off the Daily Fantasy map about a week ago but has property returned. He has two 40-plus Fanduel games over his last four. He is notoriously known for a player that can only score but doesn’t rebound or assist much. Well, in those two 40-plus point games he nearly had a double-double. If he can continue to rebound the ball, he might be able to maintain some value in the DFS world.

Half-Court Shot | Malcolm Brogdon $5,200 @ IND

Brogdon has started the last two games and has played pretty well for his price. He has had four straight games scoring slightly under 25 FanDuel points. He isn’t going to give you much more than that, but he will rarely give you less. He is a good salary relief guy in cash games.

Blocked Shot | Eric Gordon $8,000 @ CHI

His price tag is still inflated after the 55 FanDuel point outburst, and I’m still not chasing those points at his price tag.

Small Forward

Nothing But Net | LeBron James $11,400 @ MIN

So the best player in the world scores 76.5 Fanduel points in his last game…and FanDuel lowers his price $300 today. Yep, that makes total sense. I don’t need to convince you to play him, so I won’t waste my breath.

Dunk | Jimmy Butler $9,700 vs CLE

In that same game, we have Jimmy Buckets. Butler over his last nine games has seven of 42 or more FanDuel points and the Cavs are third worst over the last four weeks defending the small forward.

Half-Court Shot | Gerald Green $5,700 @ CHI

As said it Saturday and I’ll say it again. As long as James Harden is out and as long as Green’s price stays under 6k, he will be a viable start.

Blocked Shot | None

Power Forward

Nothing But Net | Blake Griffin $9,100 vs ATL

As long as he clears concussion protocol, Griffin makes for an excellent play. The Hawks just played last night against the Lakers and they looked tired. Lakers actually looked like a good team last night and that’s hard to do.

Dunk | Tobias Harris $6,800 @ NOP

The worst team over the last four weeks against the power forward spot is the Pelicans — and it’s not even close. They have given up a whopping 67.47 Fanduel points to small forwards — he next closest team is the Clippers at 58.19, nearly a full ten points less than the Pels.

Half-Court Shot | Jordan Bell $4,400 vs DEN

Okay, this one is a half-court shot in the dark. Draymond Green, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant are all listed as GTD/Probable. I feel like one of them will sit out and leave to door opened for Bell to get some valuable court time.

Blocked Shot | Anthony Daivs $10,900 vs DET

Don’t get me wrong, Davis is a good play nearly every night, but the Pistons pace of play has me looking elsewhere.

Center

Nothing But Net | Karl-Anthony Towns $9,600 vs CLE

Towns now has two great games under his belt and carries that into tonight’s game against the Cavs. He has a 60.1 and a 48.7 Fanduel point game in his last two, and that second one would likely be higher if not for the blowout nature of that game.

Dunk | Clint Capela $7,400 @ CHI

Much like Brogdon, Capela isn’t gonna wow you with numbers, he is just going to be very consistent. You can plug him in and expect 30. He might be a little pricey for only 30 Fanduel points, but I don’t really like any of the other mid-tier options.

Half-Court Shot | Myles Turner $6,300 vs MIL

Turner is here for the same reason that Marcin Gortat was on Saturday. The interior of the Bucks defense is very “light”, and an agressive big man can do some damage in the paint. I was right on Gortat so I will go to the well once more.

Blocked Shot | DeMarcus Cousins $10,900 vs DET

Similar to Anthony Davis, I don’t like the pace the Pistons play at and I can pay up elsewhere.
