DFS NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice 11/23/16

What’s up, guys! I’ve been a little slacking on the NBA content of late, and my podcast has really been on hiatus. That will soon change. The holiday season is a tough time of year for me in my day job, but soon I will be back to near nightly columns.

I haven’t completely been lazy. I’ve been working on something that I hope to release soon. I’ve created a spreadsheet that will help you identify some of the top plays every night. It’s not a projection tool like some, but it weighs all the factors we look at every night (Pace, Usage, DvP, etc) and assigns an overall score to every player through some complicated algorithms. I’ve been using it for a week and I’ve cashed six of the seven nights.

I want to have a little more data and beta testing before I release it to the masses, but it’s getting close to production ready. Let’s get to tonight’s slate…

NBA DFS Legend

Nothing But NetMy top plays of the night at his position.
DunkA Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside.
Half-Court ShotOtherwise known as a “punt play.” A Low-priced, high-upside player.
Blocked Shot A player I’ll be avoiding. Otherwise known as “Fading.”

**Main Slate

Point Guard

Nothing But Net | Russell Westbrook $11,600 @ SAC

I’m a little concerned with this pick, with the Kings playing at a slow pace this year and Westbrook playing the second game of a back to back, but it is hard not to have him as the top play every night. He gets the nod as my NbN, but if you were ever going to fade Westy, this is the game.

Dunk | Kyrie Irving $7,600 @ HOU

Irving has a much more favorable matchup with the high-paced Rockets. Even with the return of defensive specialist Patrick Beverly, Irving will have a good game here.

Half-Court Shot | Elfrid Payton $5,700 vs PHO

This pick is straight off the spreadsheet I mentioned in the open. He had the fourth-highest score among point guards with only Westbrook, Jeff Teague (GTD), and Isaiah Thomas ranked higher. The Suns are bottom four against the point guard position.

Blocked Shot | Kemba Walker $7,800 vs SA

The Spurs used to be a team you would target when rostering a point guard as they were among the league’s worst in defending the NBA version of the quarterback. This year they are among the best in terms of fantasy points allowed to point guards, mainly because Kawhi Leonard can defend three positions and will sometimes matchup on the point guard.

**Unfortunately I was unable to finish writing my column for today, but I’m publishing what I have so as not to have wasted all my research. Most of my picks tonight were straight off my spreadsheet. Here are the rest of my picks…

Dunk | Klay Thompson $6,000
