DFS NBA FanDuel Lineup 4/15/18

Had some good calls and some bad calls yesterday, if you played Richaun Holmes — I apologize — I would have never expected him to put up a big fat zero. Luckily for me, I pivoted off of him when the McGee news broke that he was starting.

I won’t be able to give you quite as much analysis as I did yesterday as I short on time, so let’s get this started…

**Main Slate

Point Guard

NBA DFS Legend

Nothing But NetMy top plays of the night at his position.
DunkA Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside.
Half-Court ShotOtherwise known as a “punt play.” A Low-priced, high-upside player.
Blocked Shot A player I’ll be avoiding. Otherwise known as “Fading.”

Nothing But Net | Chris Paul $9,000 vs MIN

Okay, it would have been too easy to put Westbrook here and call it day, but I wanted to spotlight Paul, who could be the better dollar for dollar play at PG than Westbrook. He is nearly $3,000 cheaper, has a slightly better matchup and this game will be played at a higher pace than the Thunder/Jazz game will be. Yes, Westbrook has the higher upside, but if you want to build a more balanced roster, especially with the lack of value on this slate, CP3 is the way to go.

Dunk | Ricky Rubio $6,500 @ OKC

Okay, I don’t have a lot of stats that will support my position on why I like Rubio tonight, but a guy that has been in the league for as long as he has and this is his first playoff game — that has to count for something. Quite frankly, Rubio was terrible in four games against the Thunder this year, and there is literally no statistical reason to play him, but I will have him in at least one of the three lineups that I build.

Half-Court Shot | Shane Larkin $3,600 vs MIL

I mentioned the lack of value on this slate and it’s apparent with my first H-CS pick. I haven’t tried building a lineup yet, but with the lack of value and the top-heavy nature of this slate… good luck! Larkin is essentially the backup point guard behind Terry Rozier and should see about 20-to-25 minutes tonight. That’s not a ton of minutes, but he averaged over one fantasy point per minute over the second half of the season, so if he gets 20 minutes and puts up 20 FanDuel points, you’ll take that at $3,600.

Blocked Shot | Jeff Teague $7,300 @ HOU

Teague has a tough matchup with Chris Paul, and with Jimmy Butler back in the lineup, he is at best the third option on offense. No thanks.

Honorable Mentions: Russell Westbrook $11,900

Shooting Guard

NBA DFS Legend

Nothing But NetMy top plays of the night at his position.
DunkA Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside.
Half-Court ShotOtherwise known as a “punt play.” A Low-priced, high-upside player.
Blocked Shot A player I’ll be avoiding. Otherwise known as “Fading.”

Nothing But Net | Donovan Mitchell $7,800 @ OKC

Again, writing up Harden seemed pointless, so I’ll look a little deeper and take Donovan Mitchell. Mitchell played three games against the Thunder this season with his first game coming early in the season before he really broke out, he put up only 16.4 FanDuel points. The other two games? How about 48.2 and 39.5? Yes, please.

Dunk | Eric Gordon $5,900 vs MIN

Gordon was not healthy over the Rockets last seven-plus games, but the Rockets were able to limit his minutes and rest him in multiple games and now he is claiming he is 100 percent healthy. Look for Gordon to play a big role off the bench and get back to what he was doing earlier in the season when he was averaging a shade under 30 FanDuel points per game.

Half-Court Shot | Rodney Hood $3,900 vs IND

You’re going to see a common theme with my values tonight, that theme is…they aren’t very good. Hood gets the nod here based on the fact that he will likely get the start and play close to 30 minutes. That’s it. No other reason.

Blocked Shot | Khris Middleton $8,200 @ BOS

Middleton’s price was inflated over the last part of the season when the Greek Freak was out for a few games, I think his price is a bit too steep now that the Freak is back. Not to mention the Celtics defend the two guard very well, giving up only 39.28 FanDuel per game to the position over the last four weeks.

Honorable Mentions: James Harden $11,700

Small Forward

NBA DFS Legend

Nothing But NetMy top plays of the night at his position.
DunkA Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside.
Half-Court ShotOtherwise known as a “punt play.” A Low-priced, high-upside player.
Blocked Shot A player I’ll be avoiding. Otherwise known as “Fading.”

Nothing But Net | Giannis Antetokounmpo $11,000 @ BOS

The Freak dominated the Celtics in the regular season, his lowest fantasy point total was 52.8 with a ridiculous 37 percent usage rate over four games. I don’t see that being any different in this series.

Dunk | Jayson Tatum $6,600 vs MIL

Tatum gets this spot by default, he and Ingles are the only real mid-tier options, and I don’t like Ingles’ matchup. That’s not to say Tatum isn’t a solid play, he just has limited upside at his price.

Half-Court Shot | Gerald Green $4,600 vs MIN

You can pretty much take any of the role players on the Rockets and label him a value because, in this offense, any player can have a big game if they can knock down a few shots. Green has really stepped up lately to be that guy with Trevor Ariza and Eric Gordon nursing injuries or resting towards the end of the season. Green has earned a spot in the rotation and should see 20-to-25 minutes. Also, if the game turns into a blowout, he will likely see even more minutes.

Blocked Shot | Joe Ingles $7,000

His price is a bit steep for me, he would need to score 35 FanDuel points to hit five-times value, something he has only done once over his last six games, and he will draw Paul George’s defense — I’ll pass.

Honorable Mentions: LeBron James $12,100

Power Forward

NBA DFS Legend

Nothing But NetMy top plays of the night at his position.
DunkA Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside.
Half-Court ShotOtherwise known as a “punt play.” A Low-priced, high-upside player.
Blocked Shot A player I’ll be avoiding. Otherwise known as “Fading.”

Nothing But Net | Kevin Love $8,100 vs IND

Love is literally the only top-tier option on the slate, so he gets this spot by default. I don’t think I’ll be paying up for him personally, but he is the only power forward with 50-plus FanDuel point upside.

Dunk | Taj Gibson $5,500 @ HOU

Gibson is a solid player that rarely disappoints. In a game against the Rockets with the number of shots they take, Gibson could end up with a double-double tonight.

Half-Court Shot | Carmelo Anthony $5,000 vs UTA

Playing Melo at $5,000 just doesn’t feel right. Remember when he was priced like an elite option? Even as bad as he has played all season, he still has the highest upside of any 5k and under player.

Blocked Shot | None

Honorable Mentions: Marcus Morris $5,400 vs MIL

Center

Half-Court ShotOtherwise known as a “punt play.” A Low-priced, high-upside player.
Blocked Shot A player I’ll be avoiding. Otherwise known as “Fading.”

Nothing But Net | Karl-Anthony Towns $10,500 @ HOU

Towns has dominated this matchup averaging 58.8 Fanduel points against the Rockets over the last two years, including two 60-plus FanDuel point games this season. His price gives him some decent upside on a slate with four players priced 11k or higher.

Dunk | Steven Adams $6,300 vs UTA

I love Steven Adams’ game. This dude is as old school as they come. He doesn’t shy away from contact. He is a bruiser down low, and while his matchup with Rudy Gobert is a tough one, Adams will still show up big for the Thunder tonight.

Half-Court Shot | Myles Turner $5,400

Capping off the terrible values tonight is Myles Turner. He was only healthy for one of the four matchups between these teams and he put up 36.9 FanDuel points. At $5,400, that is some nice upside. Unfortunately, his floor is somewhere in the 10-to-15 point range. GPP option only.

Blocked Shot | Greg Monroe $6,000 vs MIL

In the playoffs, coaches tend to shorten the rotations of the role players, which could limit Monroe’s minutes even more than they already are. I don’t have the numbers to prove this, but I’d be willing to bet Monroe is in the top 5 for FanDuel points per minute, but his problem since leaving the Pistons, however, is he doesn’t get any minutes. There may be a little incentive for him playing his old team, but he won’t see the court enough to do anything about it.
