DFS NBA FanDuel Lineup Advice 4/25/18

DFS NBA FanDuel Lineup 4/25/18

Today we have a rare four-game weekday slate. The two early games are both Game 5s with the series tied at two games apiece. The two late games could be potential series clinchers with the Jazz and Rockets both up three games to one in their respective series. Four games will usually yield some good value, and with two teams facing elimination, there could be some lineup or rotation changes in an attempt to get a spark to turn the series.

With two players over 9k, two over 10k and two priced at $11,800, today’s slate is going to be tough, you will either have to get the right one or two studs in your lineup, or get two mid-priced guys that put up stud-like numbers tonight.

NBA DFS Legend

Nothing But NetMy top plays of the night at his position.
DunkA Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside.
Half-Court ShotOtherwise known as a “punt play.” A Low-priced, high-upside player.
Blocked Shot A player I’ll be avoiding. Otherwise known as “Fading.”

Point Guard

NBA FanDuel Lineup 4/25/18

Nothing But Net | John Wall @ TOR $10,700

When was the last time that Westbrook was not the highest-priced PG on the slate? It has to date back to when Kevin Durant was still in OKC. Wall is priced $100 more than Westbrook, which may lead a lot of people to play Westbrook thinking, “He had a bad game and was in foul trouble, he is going to come out strong”. Maybe, but we said the same thing when they lost Game 2. And, again when Ricky Rubio lit him up in Game 3 and he vowed to shut him down. And, now we are saying it again after he picked up four fouls in the first half.

Okay, that was an entire paragraph as to why not  to play Westbrook, or at least temper expectations, but here is why I’m taking Wall. Only one player in these playoffs has three 60-plus point games, John Wall. Not Harden. Not LeBron. Not the Greek Freak. Yet, both of those players are priced at least a grand more than Wall.

Dunk | Ricky Rubio $7,400 @ OKC

I tried to tell anyone that would listen, when Westbrook said he was going to shut Rubio down in Game 4, you don’t “shut down” Rubio from scoring. You encourage him to shoot more. Kenny Smith at halftime of Game 4 illustrated it perfectly. Rubio doesn’t want to shoot and he is one of those rare players that doesn’t have to shoot to rack up FanDuel points. I find it funny that everyone criticizes point guards these days that can’t shoot the three, yet we have Rajon Rondo and Ben Simmons already in the second round with Rubio on the brink of joining them. All three are known for not being able to hit the three. While Damian Lillard and Goran Dragic, great shooters, are sitting at home.

Half-Court Shot | Derrick Rose $4,000 @ HOU

I’m going to keep riding the Rose wagon until the wheels knees fall off. Rose is proving he can contribute in spurts and has become a valuable piece off the bench for the Wolves. I bet LeBron James wishes hehad Rose on his bench right now, oh, and Dwyane Wade had a pretty good series despite losing yesterday, those players could sure help LeBron right about now.

Blocked Shot | Kyle Lowry $8,300 vs WAS

Lowry is serviceable, but he has limited upside. He now has three straight games with 39-ish FanDuel points. I’m going to take a shot in the dark and say he gets about 39-ish tonight too.

Honorable Mentions: Russell Westbrook $10,600

Shooting Guard

NBA FanDuel Lineup 4/25/18

Nothing But Net | Donovan Mitchell $8,600 @ OKC

Mitchell already has two 50-plus FanDuel point games in this series and he has shown that he is not afraid of the big stage. It won’t get any bigger than a potential close-out game on the opposing teams home court with the reigning league MVP on the other side.

Dunk | James Harden $11,800 vs MIN

Okay, Harden gets the Dunk of the night at point guard despite being more expensive then Mitchell, and it’s his price that detracts me from making him my top play. The Wolves’ spirit was broken in the third quarter of Game 4 when the Rockets score 50 points in that quarter. It’s because of that, I think this game gets ugly, fast. Harden likely won’t need to play in the fourth quarter.

Half-Court Shot | Kyle Korver $4,300 vs IND

Not a ton of value at shooting guard that I like, but Korver is as good as any. He is getting decent minutes and playing at home should help his shot which he seemed to find in Game 4.

Blocked Shot | Bradley Beal $7,800 @ TOR

I’ve said it before, Beal is a much better player at home. This game is in Toronto. Fade.

Honorable Mentions: J.R. Smith

Small Forward

NBA FanDuel Lineup 4/25/18

Nothing But Net | LeBron James $11,800 vs IND

LeBron James. At Home. Series tied 2-2. That’s all you need to know.

Dunk | Paul George $8,100 vs UTA

George has quietly been having an excellent series and after some chippiness in Game 4 will likely come out and let his game do the talking. Let’s just hope he doesn’t get ejected by doing something stupid.

Half-Court Shot | Lance Stephenson $3,800 @ CLE

Speaking of doing something stupid, Stephenson is the poster boy for just that. His upside at $3,800 is too good to pass up.

Blocked Shot | Joe Ingles $6,600 @ OKC

Don’t chase the points. Ingles isn’t nearly as good on the road as he is at home, as evident by Games 1 and 2 where he struggled, scoring 14.9 and 8.3 in those games respectively.

Honorable Mentions: Trevor Ariza $4,600

Power Forward

NBA FanDuel Lineup 4/25/18

Nothing But Net | Thadeus Young $6,600 @ CLE

He has dramatically out-played Kevin Love the last two games and is priced $1,100 less. Being on the road does worry me a bit about him, however, so buyer beware.

Dunk | Carmelo Anthony $5,600 vs UTA

Melo hasn’t quite been able to reproduce his Game 1 numbers, but the potential is there and at $5,600, that is some good upside. Being at home helps too.

Half-Court Shot | Markieff Morris $5,400 @ TOR

Catching Morris at the right time, when he feels like being aggressive, is like catching lightning in a bottle on a clear, cloudless sunny day. But, the 44.2 Fanduel points he put up in Game 1 is always a possibility, despite how difficult it can be.

Blocked Shot | Kevin Love $7,700 vs IND

I’m not sure why he is still $7,700? He has three straight games with 26 or fewer Fanduel points.

Honorable Mentions: None

Center

NBA FanDuel Lineup 4/25/18

Nothing But Net | Rudy Gobert $8,000 @ OKC

The only center I’m paying up for tonight. I don’t think Capela is needed for his usual amount of minutes and KAT is just too expensive.

Dunk | Jonas Valanciunas $5,800 vs WAS

J Val is averaging 32.55 Fanduel points at home in this series while only putting up 20 FanDuel points on average on the road. Tonight’s game is at home, and his price is just right to give you some nice upside.

Half-Court Shot | Marcin Gortat $4,100 @ TOR

It sounds like he and John Wall are playing nice again. It’s amazing what winning can do players. As long as Wall keeps looking Gortat’s way, Gortat will have value.

Blocked Shot | Karl-Anthony Towns $9,500 @ HOU

Too expensive and looks like he is already planning his summer vacation.

Honorable Mentions: Ian Mahinmi $3,600

Can somebody please realize that Mahinmi has been more efficient in his limited time than has Gortat? Give this guy at least 20 minutes, please.
