DFS NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice 4/8/16

NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis for 4/8/16

Whats up guys? Only a few games left in the regular season — man time flies! The good thing about the NBA playoffs is they are long — really long. We still have nearly two months left of NBA DFS basketball to be played. The playoffs can be difficult to play at times, but at least, we don’t have to worry about “rest” days or late scratches. Everyone is going to play that is healthy enough to do so. We have to be careful though over these last few games. Teams that already have their seed locked up will start resting players and/or limit their stars’ playing time.

Let me take a minute here and mention the huge upgrade to the NoHalftime app last week. There is now live scoring! You can see how you challenges are doing in real-time! Game Winner My Game Winner will be my top play for the position.

Dunk A Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside.

Half-Court Shot Otherwise known as a “punt play”.

Pass A player deemed a Pass is someone I’m avoiding — or “passing” on.

Point Guard

Game Winner Isaiah Thoms vs MIL $7,900

nba fanduel lineup advice 4/8/16At this point in the season for DFS, you want to roster players that are still playing for something. In the case of the Celtics, they are still playing for home-court advantage in the first round so there will be no rest days for the Celtics’ best player. It’s a tough matchup on paper, as the Bucks defend the point guard position well, but I still expect a huge game from Thomas.

Dunk Goran Dragic @ ORL $6,700

The team the Celtics are battling with for home-court are the Heat, so expect Dragic to play big minutes despite this being the second game of a back to back. The Magic are a good matchup for Dragic, they rank in the bottom third of the league in defending the point guard position.

Half-Court Shot Shane Larkin @ CHA $4,700

The Nets have nothing left to play for except pride and to play spoiler, but Larkin is playing for recognition for next year. He needs to show that he can be a worthy starting point guard in this league. The Nets are Larkin’s third NBA team in as many years, he is playing for a job.

Pass Kyle Lowry vs IND $7,900

The Raptors are pretty much locked into the No. 2 seed barring an epic collapse from the Cavs, and even then it would come down to a tiebreaker, which I’m unsure if the Cavs or Raptors have the tiebreaker advantage. Either way, the chances that the Raptors get the No. 1 seed are beyond slim. Lowry may not sit the game out entirely, but don’t expect heavy minutes from him.

Shooting Guard

Game Winner Bradley Beal @ DET $6,000

The Wizards aren’t mathematically eliminated yet, but they are more than likely out of nba fanduel lineup advice 4/8/16the playoffs. Beal, after an injury-ravaged season, will be looking to prove he is worthy of a big contract this offseason. With John Wall expected to miss this game, Beal will be the centerpiece of this offense and the Wizards will need him to play like a max contract player if they expect to beat the team currently holding the eighth seed in the East.

Dunk Avery Bradley vs MIL $5,800

Much like Isaiah Thomas, Bradley will get big minutes in a very important game for home court advantage. The Bucks do not defend the two guard as well as they do the point, so Bradley could be in for a huge game if Thomas struggles at all. Either way, expect Bradley to show up and play big minutes in this one.

Half-Court Shot Jamal Crawford @ UTA $4,800

The Clippers have already announced they are resting most of their starters tonight, and unless you were living under a rock about a week ago, you already know what Crawford did the last time all the starters rested. For those living under rocks, he had 46.7 fanduel points.

Pass DeMar DeRozan vs IND $8,100

see Kyle Lowry

Small Forward

Game Winner Giannis Antetokounmpo @ BOS $9,700

nba fanduel lineup advice 4/8/16Looking at the Bucks team from a fantasy perspective, it’s hard to grasp how such a fantasy friendly team is so bad in the real world — but that is the case. The Bucks have nothing to play for, but I still expect Alphabet to do everything he can to at least play spoiler. The Celtics want home court in the playoffs, the Bucks would love to spoil that for them.

Dunk Robert Covington vs NY $6,300

The Sixers haven’t had anything to play for in years, so expect this to be business as usual for Covington and his teammates.

Half-Court Shot Luke Babbit vs LAL $5,400

Much like Shane Larkin, Babbit is looking to prove himself over the last few weeks of the season to show that he belongs in the NBA. He has done a good job at it in recent weeks, and now he gets a Lakers that hasn’t played much defense all year.

Pass Kawhi Leonard @ DEN $8,600

Why am I passing on Leonard? Let me count the ways. This is the second game of a back to back. It’s also the second game of a back to back in the Denver altitude. The Spurs are locked into the No. 2 seed. His coach is Greg Popovich.

Power Forward

Game Winner Derrick Favors vs LAC $6,700

nba fanduel lineup advice 4/8/16The Jazz are still fighting for a playoff spot. They currently have the last spot in the West and the Clippers handed them a gift by not playing any of their key players. That doesn’t mean the Jazz will take this game lightly, though. I like all the Jazz players tonight against the Clippers’ second team.

Dunk Luol Deng @ ORL $6,300

As I mentioned before, the Heat are battling for home court with the Celtics. Deng has been very good since moving into the power forward spot and the Heat started pushing the pace a little more. Look for that trend to continue tonight.

Half-Court Shot Derrick Williams @ PHI $4,500

Williams has put up some nice numbers with Kristaps Porzingis sitting out with a shoulder injury. It’s unlikely that Zingis plays in this game, so fire up Williams again.

Pass LaMarcus Aldridge @ DEN $8,300

see Kawhi Leonard

GeronSpreadSheetBanner

Center

Game Winner Hassan Whiteside @ ORL $8,600

nba fanduel lineup advice 4/8/16Beating a dead horse here. Heat and Celtics fighting for home court….

Dunk Rudy Gobert vs LAC $5,900

Still beating that horse… Jazz fighting for that 8 seed.

Half-Court Shot Cole Aldrich @ UTA $3,700

He will get 30-plus minutes with all the starters out, and while I don’t like the matchup, at his price tag he is the best value on the slate tonight.

Pass Jonas Valaciunas vs IND $6,200

see Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan

The 6th Man (other plays I like)

  • PG Reggie Jackson $6,000
  • PG Shelvin Mack $5,900
  • SG Wesley Matthews $5,200
  • SF Gordon Hayward $6,800
  • PF Thomas Robinson $6,600
  • C Marcin Gortat $6,600
