After a very good weekend, we kick off the week with a nice seven-game slate. We are finally getting to the point in the season when we have a little more stats and trends to look at. Sometime in the next few weeks, I’ll be putting out my CVP chart and will try to have it up for every large NBA slate.
For those not familiar with my CVP chart, in a nutshell, it’ll help you to find some good value. CVP stands for “Cost vs Production”. It basically looks at the last five games and will help identify guys that are outperforming their current FanDuel price. I’ll be adding a few new wrinkles to this year’s version. Among those additions is usage and pace as well as a recap to show you what player I see on the chart that you might want to take a look at. Be on the look out for that, but for now, let’s get to the top plays for tonight…
NBA DFS Legend

| Half-Court Shot | Otherwise known as a “punt play.” A Low-priced, high-upside player. |

**Main Slate
Point Guard
Nothing But Net | John Wall vs HOU $9,200
I’m assuming Wall will be back for this game after getting a rest game on Saturday night. Anytime Russell Westbrook is on the slate, it’s hard not to put him as my NBN play of the night, but with Wall at home, matching up with James Harden, in a very high-paced game, and $1,500 cheaper than Westbrook he gets the nod tonight.
Dunk | Kemba Walker vs IND $7,800
Walker has yet to put up one of those huge nights that we saw from him on occasion last year, but what he has been is consistent. He has yet to put up less than 33 FanDuel points in any game this year and tonight he gets a matchup with the Pacers that allow 43-plus FanDuel points to opposing point guards. He scored over 40 Fanduel points in all three matchups last year against the Pacers so he is a good bet to get over 40 tonight.
Half-Court Shot | Langston Galloway @ GS $3,700
Galloway received 32 and 28 minutes in the last two games and has played well enough to stay in the Pelicans rotation. Not to mention, the rumors out of New Orleans are the Lance Stephenson will be released after a groin injury that will need surgery. The Pels will likely sign Archie Goodwin after he was cut from the Suns, but he won’t be ready to go right away. Look for Galloway to continue to see minutes going forward and this game could turn into a blowout, meaning Galloway could see some junk time.
Blocked Shot | Stephen Curry vs NO $8,700
Combined Curry’s slow start to the season and that he could sit out the fourth quarter in a blowout makes him a player to avoid tonight.
Shooting Guard
Nothing But Net | James Harden @ WAS $11,800

I don’t love having Harden as my top play at shooting guard as he will likely draw John Wall’s great defense, but the I liked the other top options less. With that said, he put up 70 and 64 FanDuel points against the Wizards last year, but he was likely defended by Bradley Beal last year, so it’s hard to get a read on it.
Dunk | Bradley Beal vs HOU $5,400
Speaking of Bradley Beal, I think his price is too low for a guy that could get hot any minute now. I think the combination of this soft Rockets defense and being at home, this will be the game he breaks out.
Half-Court Shot | Eric Gordon @ WAS $5,100
The Wizards are bottom four in the league in FanDuel points allowed to shooting guards, and even though Gordon is a little up and down with his consistency he is in a good spot here matching up against Beal.
Blocked Shot | Klay Thompson vs NO $5,700
For the same reason I’m fading Curry, I’ll be fading Thompson. Slow start and could be sitting the fourth quarter in a blowout.
Small Forward
Nothing But Net | Gordon Hayward @ PHI $7,300
This more about price and matchup than anything else. He is the top offensive option going up against a Sixers team that struggles to defend the shooting guard position. The Jazz are not limiting his minutes after his return from injury and he will likely log heavy minutes again tonight.
Dunk | Justise Winslow @ OKC $5,000
Only the Knicks give up more FanDuel points to opposing small forwards this year, and Winslow is logging huge minutes for a team that lacks playmakers on offense. Winslow doesn’t have the upside you would like in GPP’s but he is a good cash game play to save some salary.
Half-Court Shot | C.J. Miles vs CHA $4,200
Miles has been a pleasant surprise so far in this young season for both the Pacers and us DFS players. His FanDuel price has yet to catch up with his recent production and he gets a plus matchup with the Hornets who give up over 37 FanDuel points per game to small forwards.
Blocked Shot | Top two small forwards
I’m fading both Kevin Durant and Paul George tonight. Durant because of the blowout factor and George because his price is too high for his recent level of production.
Power Forward
Nothing But Net | Anthony Davis @ GS $10,900
Davis’ price is below 11k again and tonight get’s the Warriors that are dead last in defense vs position (DvP) against the power forward. Davis will also play the five for a good part of the game and the Warriors aren’t much better defending the center either.
Dunk | Markieff Morris vs HOU $5,800
Okay, I’m finally ready to jump on board the Morris train. He had 36 and 34 FanDuel points in his last two games and is averaging over 35 minutes per game. He gets a great matchup with the third worst team in DvP against the power forward position, the Rockets.
Half-Court Shot | Terrence Jones @ GS $4,400
Finally! I’ve screamed for the Pelicans to put Jones and Anthony Davis on the floor at the same time and they finally did it Saturday night to some excellent results. He put up 45 FanDuel in 28 minutes against the Suns. I have no issue with Jones and Davis in the same lineup.
Blocked Shot | None
Center
Nothing But Net | Nikola Vucevic @ CHI $7,200
Vucevic has the best matchup of all the top three centers tonight. The Bulls give up 48-plus FanDuel points to opposing centers.
Dunk | Joel Embiid vs UTA $5,000
Embiid is a future star in this league and even in limited minutes in a tough matchup, his 5k salary will be hard to fade.
Half-Court Shot | Clint Capela @ WAS $4,400
I had a hard time find a center to put as my H-CS, and to be honest, I don’t love the call, but if you want to save some salary you could do worse.
