DFS NBA FanDuel Starting 5 Lineup Advice 1/14/18

It’s been awhile since I’ve put up a Starting 5 column, but with a three-game slate on Sunday, it seemed like the perfect time to put one out. Truth be told, after starting out super hot with my S5 lineups, I’ve gone three straight days without cashing — my longest such drought since the S5 first came out. In other words, this column is as much for me as it is you.

Guards

Victor Oladipo $13,000 @ PHO

Despite the huge comeback by the Pacers on Friday, Oladipo didn’t have his best fantasy game scoring only 29.1 FanDuel points. The Suns are dead last on the season and the last four weeks in points allowed to shooting guards, giving up 48.97 FanDuel points. This game also has the highest over/under on the slate.

Devin Booker $11,500 vs IND

In that same game, we have Booker who is tied for the second highest usage of any player on today’s slate. The matchup is actually a tough one for Booker as Oladipo is one of the better defenders in the league. The Pacers give up a mere 38.14 FanDuel points to shooting guards, but it’s Bookers usage and the high over/under that has me on him.

Others to consider: Jrue Holiday $11,000, Andrew Wiggins $10,000

Kristaps Porzingis $12,000 vs NOP

This is another game that I really want to have exposure to as it has the second highest over/under and only a 1.5 spread. That means not only should it high scoring, but it should also be a very close game that will keep the stars on the court playing big minutes. The last time these two teams met at the end of December, Porzingis put up 54.9 Fanduel points in 31 minutes. The Pelicans have played better defense against the power forward spot over the last four weeks, but still rank bottom seven on the year. When I wrote up Booker in the last slide I said he was tied for the second highest usage on the slate at 30, Porzingis is the one he is tied with.

Dragan Bender $8,000 vs IND

Marquese Chriss is expected to miss another game, giving Bender another chance to start — a place he has excelled over the last two games. Bender may end up being the chalk on this slate, especially in cash games, as he has scored 32.6 and 43.2 in his last two games and is priced at a minimum price of $8,000. As long as Chriss is out, plug in Bender and build up from there.

Others to consider: Jimmy Butler $12,500, T.J. Warren $11,000

Center

DeMarcus Cousins $15,000 @ NY

Cousins has been one of the most consistent players this season, at least from a fantasy perspective, and tonight he gets a great matchup with the Knicks. These two teams met up on New Orleans in late December and Cousins dropped 59.8 FanDuel points on them. The Knicks have given up the fifth most FanDuel points to centers over the last four weeks. Cousins should have no issue going over 50 Fanduel points once again.

Others to consider: Enes Kanter $9,500
