DFS NBA FanDuel Starting 5 Lineup Advice 12/25/17

Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays, whatever you prefer. I’m back with another “Starting 5” column. If anyone used the exact lineup from my last article, you should have made some money. That lineup actually won my a few of the mini GPPs and had me in the top 10-to-15 in some of the larger GPPs, not to mention it won me a bunch of cash games too.

Today’s games are going to be tough because there are so many studs and all the games have a high over/under, but I think I put together a pretty nice lineup that should win us some money again today.

Let’s get to it…

Guard

Russell Westbrook $16,000 vs HOU

NBA FanDuel Starting 5 12/25/17

I don’t have to say much to convince you to play either of the two guards I’m featuring today, but Westbrook has had 57 of more FanDuel points in four straight games and will likely want to put up big numbers in the NBA Christmas showcase game. He averaged 36 points, nine rebounds and nine assists against the Rockets last season, and the 36 points per game against the Rockets was his third highest average against any one team with at least four meetings.

James Harden $15,500 @ OKC

Harden actually struggled against the Thunder last year, do in part to the defense of Thunder guard Andre Roberson, but Harden has put up two straight 50-plus point games –both losses — and he was very angry after the last game. I expect him to carry that anger with him to OKC, and “they won’t like him when he’s angry” -Incredible Hulk. I like Harden even more if Chris Paul is back as I think playing off the ball will allow him to get open easier even with Roberson shadowing him.

Others to consider: Kyrie Irving $11,500, Jeff Teague $9,000

Jimmy Butler $12,500 @ LAL

Butler has been playing really well of late and is coming off a 45.7 FanDuel point game against the Suns on Saturday. This game figures to be a “pace-up” game for the Timberwolves, meaning more shots for Jimmy Buckets. No one has given up more FanDuel points to small forwards over the last four weeks than have the Lakers — giving up 47.14 FanDuel points per game over that span.

Kyle Kuzma $8,000 vs MIN

Kuzma is going to burn me one of these nights in these Starting 5 contests, but he hasn’t yet and he is still only $8,000. It is a tough matchup for him, but you are not gonna find a higher upside guy at $8,000 anywhere on this slate. He is capable of putting up 50-plus FanDuel points on any given night — and he comes off the bench! One has to wonder how a guy this talented wasn’t picked higher in the draft?

Others to consider: LeBron James $17,000, Dario Saric $9,000, Brandon Ingram (GTD) $10,000

Center

Jordan Bell $8,000 vs CLE

Bell followed up his 41.5 breakout game against the Lakers with another impressive 30 FanDuel points against the Nuggets the very next night. As long as he gets another start, and I see no reason why he wouldn’t, Bell should have another nice game against a Cavs team that gives up 53.52 FanDuel points to opposing centers over the last four weeks. If we can get another 30-plus game from him, I will be happy.

Others to consider: Kevin Love $11,000, Steven Adams $9,500
