DFS NBA FanDuel Starting 5 Lineup Advice 2/26/18

What’s up, everyone? Hope everyone had a good weekend and won some money. I had a so-so weekend, lost money on Saturday won a little on Sunday. Looking to keep winning today on this big slate of 10 games.

Today is going to be tough with Harden, Westbrook, Durant and A.D. all on the slate, but we have some good matchups to work with, so let’s get started…

NBA DFS Legend

Nothing But NetMy top plays of the night at his position.
DunkA Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside.
Half-Court ShotOtherwise known as a “punt play.” A Low-priced, high-upside player.
Blocked Shot A player I’ll be avoiding. Otherwise known as “Fading.”

Guards

Nothing But Net | Jrue Holiday $13,500 vs PHO

DFS NBA FanDuel Lineup 2/26/18

Yep, you read that right. On a night with James Harden, Russell Westbrook and Steph Curry, I’m going with Holiday as my top play. Let me explain why. First, on a large slate like tonight, Westbrook and Harden are too expensive when you have so many other good mid-tier options. Two, the Suns are the seventh worst team against the point guard position over the last four weeks — and trust me when I tell you, they have actually been worse than what the numbers show, Lillard just dropped 58 on them a few nights ago. And finally, Holiday’s usage rate has been in the high 20s in five of his last seven games.

Dunk | Elfrid Payton $12,500 @ NO

In that same game, we have Payton, who, since coming over from Orlando, has been a very good addition to the Suns. He has had a double-double and a triple-double over his last three games and tonight gets the Pelicans who are one of the few teams worse than the Suns at defending point guards. The Pels have given up 50.72 Fanduel points per game over the last four weeks. This game has the highest over/under on the slate and only a  seven-point spread.

Half-Court Shot | Trey Burke $9,000 vs GSW

After two straight 40-plus FanDuel point games, do we go back to the well again? For $9,000? Yes, yes we do. After scoring 26 NBA points in two straight games, I thought Fanduel would price Burke in the $10,500 range, but apparently, even FanDue doesn’t trust him yet. I’m going to put my faith in him one more time in this high-paced, high-scoring game. Yes, there is a blowout factor, but the Knicks are “taking a look at their young guys” which is also known as “tanking”, they won’t care if they get blown out and could likely just leave Burke in during junk time.

Blocked Shot | Russell Westbrook $16,500 vs ORL

Can’t believe I’m suggesting you fade Westbrook. It’s career suicide if I’m wrong…lucky for me this isn’t my career. Okay, in all honesty, don’t completely fade him, but I wouldn’t have 80 percent exposure either.

Honorable Mentions: Steph Curry $14,000, Devin Booker $13,500, Andrew Wiggins $12,000, Corey Joseph $9,500

Forwards

Nothing But Net | Kevin Durant $14,500 @ NYK

DFS NBA FanDuel Lineup 2/26/18

Durant is the one “stud” tonight priced under 15k and that’s why he is getting the top spot. I also have a working theory, one that paid off the other night, the big time stars like to show-out in New York. I played this card the other night with Kyrie Irving and he put up close to 60 FanDuel points. Durant hasn’t played in New York in a few years, in fact, his last time in Madison Square Garden was two seasons ago when he was still a member of the Thunder. What did he do in that game, you ask? How does 44 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and a steal sound? Quick math tells me that is about 71.3 FanDuel points (okay, he did have four turnovers).

Dunk | Nikola Mirotic $12,500 vs PHO

When the Pels made the trade to acquire Mirotic, they knew they were getting a three-point shooter and a good rebounder. What they not have been expecting was his defense. He has 12 blocks over his last five games! The Suns are the most blocked team in the league…. Okay, that was a terrible sentence. Let me try to say it this way. The Suns get blocked more than any other team in the NBA to the tune of seven blocks per game. Roster Mirotic and hope he scores 20-plus points and grabs seven rebounds, but if he can get you two or three blocks as well. At $12,500? Where do I sign up?

Half-Court Shot | Taurean Prince $9,000 vs LAL

Prince and teammate John Collins have both benefited from the pending buyout of Ersan Ilyasova. Collins has benefitted slightly more, but also will cost you an extra $1,500. The over-under in this game is 223.5, the third highest on this slate, and the Lakers are the fastest pace team in the league. Prince may the best dollar-for-dollar play at the forward position tonight.

Blocked Shot | Blake Griffin $13,000 @ TOR

Does anyone feel safe rostering this guy after his last two games? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

Honorable Mentions: John Collins $10,500, Brandon Ingram $12,000, Bobby Portis $12,000, Michael Beasley $11,000

Centers

DFS NBA FanDuel Lineup 2/26/18

Nothing But Net | Anthony Davis $17,000 vs PHO

Wow, $17,000 is a lot to pay for anyone. If Davis doesn’t get you 60-plus Fanduel points your lineup likely won’t cash. However, if he goes off for 80-plus and you don’t have him, you likely won’t cash. I haven’t really tried to put together a lineup with him yet, but I’m sure I’ll find a way to get him in somehow or another.

Not that it really matters, but the Suns are the third worst team against the center position over the last four weeks. Davis only had 38.8 FanDuel points the last time they played, but the Pels beat them so bad that Davis nor DeMarcus Cousins played any of the fourth quarter. Without Cousins, I don’t expect the Pels to blow them out, especially with the Pels on the second night of a back-to-back.

Dunk | Steven Adams $12,500 vs ORL

Before Vucevic got hurt and missed an extended amount of the time, the Magic were dead last defending the center position. Now that he is back in the lineup, over the last two games he has played, the Magic are….wait for it… dead last defending the center position. Enes Kanter and Kyle O’Quinn combined for 66 Fandueal points in his first game back and Embiid had just under 50 in only 26 minutes with Richaun Holmes chipped in another 24.6. That’s a long-winded way to say, start centers against the Magic.

Half-Court Shot |Alex Len $9,500 @ NO

Here we are with this game again, and I’m going back to Len once again — as long as Tyson Chandler is out of course. He now has three straight games, dating back to pre-all star game, of at least 33 FanDuel points. Even with Anthony Davis playing center, the Pels struggle against opposing centers, in fact, they are the fourth worst team against the position over the last four weeks — one spot behind the Suns ironically. Their biggest weakness is rebounds allowed. Only the Nets give up more rebounds per game than do the Pels over the last four weeks. Len has two straight games with 13 rebounds, he could make it three-for-three.

Blocked Shot | Rudy Gobert $13,000 vs HOU

Gobert has struggled against the Rockets this season. In two games he has only averaged 21.4 FanDuel points. The Rockets ability to play small limits Gobert’s minutes as he played 27 or fewer minutes in both games, well below his season average of 32.

Honorable Mentions: Julius Randle $12,500, Nikola Vucevic $13,000
