DFS NBA FanDuel Starting 5 Lineup Advice 3/19/18

It has become increasingly difficult these days to play NBA DFS due to all the rest days that are being given as we wind down the regular season. Sometimes just having a roster of players that aren’t ruled out can go a long way to whether or not you cash. Even the Starting 5 format with the late swap can be difficult because a lot of the players that are replacing these resting players aren’t even available on the S5 slate.  To be completely frank, I haven’t been playing as much NBA as I was before the All-Star Break for that particular reason. However, I love it too much to give it up completely, so I decided to put up another S5 advice column for today.

To be completely frank, I haven’t been playing as much NBA as I was before the All-Star Break for that particular reason. However, I love it too much to give it up completely, so I decided to put up another S5 advice column for today. I also will continue to put up my NBA Spreadsheet, even though when players are ruled out, it nullifies some of the effectiveness of the sheet.

One last note, for the readers that use the App, I apologize for the downtime, I’m just as frustrated as you, maybe more, but we are working on getting it back up soon. On to today’s column…

NBA DFS Legend

Nothing But NetMy top plays of the night at his position.
DunkA Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside.
Half-Court ShotOtherwise known as a “punt play.” A Low-priced, high-upside player.
Blocked Shot A player I’ll be avoiding. Otherwise known as “Fading.”

**Main Slate

Guards

Nothing But Net | Tyreke Evans $10,500 @ BKN

Evans is likely playing for a new team next season and is essentially auditioning each game he plays. He has two straight 40-plus FanDuel point games since returning to the lineup. The volume of shots he takes gives him a pretty good floor, not to mention he has dished out 16 assists over the last two games. This will be a pace up game for Evans and it should result in more shots and more chances to rack up assists.

Dunk | Lonzo Ball $10,000 @ IND

Say what you will about Ball’s shooting troubles, as a fantasy player, he is legit. His ability to fill up a box score with assists, rebounds, steals and even blocks, gives him a high floor and more than makes up for his shooting issues. If you are luckily enough to roster him on one of those nights when he is shooting well, you could have a really big game on your hands.

Half-Court Shot | Quinn Cook $8,000 @ SAS

After his second straight career night, it’s hard to believe he is still minimum salary. He is currently listed as GTD, so make sure he is playing. Also, make sure Steph Curry and Klay Thompson are both still out. If both those statements are true, rostering him is a no-brainer. The Kings give up 47.01 Fanduel points to point guards over the last four weeks, Cook should have another good day.

Blocked Shot | Victor Oladipo $12,000 vs LAL

Oladipo hasn’t quite been as good in the second half of the season as he was in the first half. This is a great matchup, and his price isn’t that bad, but I just feel there are better options.

Honorable Mentions: Dejounte Murray $9,000, Jeremy Lamb $8,000

Forwards

Nothing But Net | Giannis Antetokounmpo $17,500 @ CLE

The Greek Freak has averaged 61.23 Fanduel points in three games this season against the Cavs. The Cavs are on the second game of a back-to-back and with so many injuries, they will be tired. The Freak should be his normal dominant self again tonight. The Cavs give up 44.15 FanDuel points over the last four weeks, which is an improvement over there season average.

Dunk | Julius Randle $10,000 @ IND

I’m not really sure why Randle is only 10k, after four straight games with at least 35-plus Fanduel points, which includes a 68 point explosion, I would have thought his price would have been much higher. He has five double-doubles over his last six games and there is no reason to think he can’t do it tonight again.

Half-Court Shot | Denzel Valentine $8,500 @ NYK

To be completely frank, there isn’t a lot to love in the way of cheap forwards. There are a lot of guys that could be good but could also be terrible. Valentine will likely play the most minutes of any of the cheap guys, so I picked him as today’s H-CS. No team gives up more points to power forwards over the last four weeks than do the New York Knicks.

Blocked Shot | None

Honorable Mentions: Bobby Portis $9,500

Centers

Nothing But Net | Andre Drummond $15,500 @ SAC

This was a coin-flip between Embiid and Drummond, Drummond won. Both guys have great matchups and both guys have been playing really well as of late. Drummond has the slightly better matchup against a Kings team giving up 56.77 Fanduel points to centers over the last four weeks.

Dunk | Dwight Howard $11,000 @ PHI

Howard hasn’t been quite as dominant as he was just a few short months ago, but he is still capable of dropping 55-plus FanDuel points. These two teams met a little over a week ago and Howard put up 46.2 FanDuel points, which isn’t all that impressive until you realize he only had six rebounds, his lowest total over the last six games.

Half-Court Shot | Enes Kanter $8,500 vs CHI

I can’t figure out why coaches hate Kanter? Anytime he is ever given meaningful minutes, he will produce, yet every coach he has ever had has limited his minutes. I’m betting on Kanter tonight in hopes that his coach will give him 25-plus minutes tonight. Only the Suns and the Nets give up more points to centers than do the Bulls, who give up 61.84 FanDuel points.

Blocked Shot | Marc Gasol $11,500 @ BKN

Great price, great matchup, this is strictly a gut feeling. The Grizzlies have mailed in there season, but Gasol continues to play well, but I just don’t like him, even in this cupcake matchup.

Honorable Mentions: Joel Embiid $16,000
