DFS NFL FanDuel Lineup Advice Super Bowl and Pro Bowl (1/29)

I’m going to give you a lineup that I’ll be using for the “Bowl” slate on FanDuel, because why not? It’s pretty much a crapshoot picking these players, but I think my method will limit the risk if you decide to play this slate. Let’s go…

NFL DFS FanDuel Lineup for Bowl Games

Quarterback

Tom Brady $9,900

When building this lineup, there were two things I locked in right away. One was the QB position. You have to go with either Brady or Matt Ryan at this position. Being that you only get one QB spot, you want one of the QBs that are going to play an entire game, not just one quarter. Regardless of how little defense will be played in the Pro Bowl, there is no telling which QB gets the most points.

So why Brady over Ryan? Sometimes the Super Bowl is too big a stage for some players. I’m not saying that will be the case for Ryan, but if you were a betting man — which if you are reading this you probably are — if one of these QBs were to crack under the pressure, which one would you put your money on? Exactly.

Running Back

Ezekiel Elliot $6,000

Young guys like Elliot aren’t worried about getting hurt or even think about the longevity of their careers. He is still at an age where he thinks he is invincible. He will run in this game like it was the Super Bowl, and that’s all we can ask for.

Jay Ajayi $5,600

Of the three AFC running backs, Ajayi is the only one not dealing with an injury. I’m sure both DeMarco Murray and Melvin Gordon will see the field, but they won’t want to be out there very long, leaving Ajayi to carry the load.

Wide Receiver

Julio Jones $9,600

Wide receiver is another position I wanted to make sure to have Super Bowl players, not Pro Bowl Players, and it has to do with chemistry. The receivers in the Pro Bowl will be catching passes from QBs they have never played with before, and it’s anyone’s guess which of them become the “favorite” target. Jones is Matt Ryan’s favorite, no question about that, and he is my favorite WR to have in my lineups.

Julian Edelman $8,500

Edelman is Brady’s go-to receiver, especially with Rob Gronkowski not playing in this game. Edelman doesn’t have the huge upside as the other Patriots WRs, but he is the safest of the group.

Tyreek Hill $5,400

If anyone player on the field for either team was built to play in the Pro Bowl, it’s Tyreek Hill. He was one of the more exciting players in all of the NFL this year despite not really coming on until late in the season. The AFC should look for ways to get him touches, and he only needs one to break the big one.

Tight End

Martellus Bennet $6,000

Tight end, like QB, because you’re only afforded one slot on FanDuel for the position, you have to take one from the Super Bowl. Much like WRs, we have no idea which TE will become the favorite of these QBs, but we know with near certainty that Brady will look Bennet’s way at least once in the Red-Zone. That’s enough for me.

Kicker

Justin Tucker $4,500

You could literally take any of the kickers and be fine. This is GoingFor2 after all, we don’t do kickers.

Defense

NE Patriots

The Patriots are the No. 1 scoring defense on the year, and while they haven’t faced a team like the Falcons, they are the lesser of four evils. None of these defenses figure to be particularly great for FanDuel, but the Patriots at least have some statistical backing to support taking them.
