DFS NFL FanDuel Lineup Advice Week 13 (12/4/16)

I missed last week due to the holiday, but I’m back and better than ever for Week 13. Well, the “better than ever” part is yet to be determined, but it sounded good. Before we jump into this weekend’s slate, let me pay some bills…

If you haven’t checked out FanPicks.com yet, take a minute and head over there. They are a DFS site similar to DraftKings and FanDuel but on a smaller (easier to win) scale. They still do college football and college basketball, which the two major sites no longer do, and of course, NBA, NFL, and MLB. They also have multi-sports contests where you pick players from two different sports! Check them out by using this link and get a free entry to this weekend’s NCAA Football Millionaire Contests and get 110% of your first deposit. Signup at FanPicks.com.

Okay, onto tonight’s slate…

Explosive PlayMy top play for the position
Deep ThreatA deep threat is a second or third tier player that will outperform their price on FanDuel/DraftKings.
Hail MaryAlso know as a punt, a Hail Mary is a cheap, low-owned player with a ton of upside. Great for GPP's.
Missed TackleA missed tackle is a first or second tier player that I’ll be fading in my contests.

*note* Prices are based on FanDuel, but most plays will crossover to DraftKings as well

Quarterbacks

Explosive Play | Drew Brees $9,300 vs DET

The Lions have gotten better defensively over the last few weeks, but this is the “home” version of Drew Brees. He has thrown 19 of his 32 TDs at home and should add to that total tonight.

Deep Threat | Matthew Stafford $8,300 @ NO

As good as Drew Brees has been this year, the Saints defense has been equally as bad. They made Jared Goff look like a Pro Bowl QB in the first half of last week’s game. Stafford is having a great season and will continue in this game.

Hail Mary | Colin Kaepernick $7,800 @ CHI

Here is the total list of players (not quarterbacks, all players) with more fantasy points over the last four weeks than Kaepernick. You ready?

  1. Aaron Rodgers

That’s it. That’s the entire list.

Missed Tackle | Kirk Cousins $7,500 @ ARI

This is a tough matchup on its own, but if Jordan Reed misses this game, this Redskins offense could struggle.

Others I like: Ben Roethlisberger $8,300, Philip Rivers $8,200

Running Backs

Explosive Play | David Johnson vs WAS $9,200

Of the three top RBs, Johnson has both the good matchup and is playing at home. It’s splitting hairs, but that’s what you have to do sometimes.

Deep Threat | Jordan Howard vs SF $7,400

I’d recommend starting Trent Richardson if he were playing against the 49ers. That’s how bad their run defense is.

Hail Mary | Theo Riddick  $6,500 @ NO

I love this game and I want as much exposure as possible. It is currently the only game on the slate with an over/under over 50. It sits at 53.5 and the nearest game to it is Washington/Arizona at 49.5.

Missed Tackle | Jay Ajayi $7,500 @ BAL

Until last week, the Ravens were the No. 1 overall defense, and then they ran into the Cowboys. News flash, the Dolphins are NOT the cowboys and they will struggle in this one.

Others I like: LeSean McCoy $8,400, Le’Veon Bell $9,300

Wide Receivers

Explosive Play | Mike Evans $8,500 @ SD

Evans just lit up the Seahawks to the tune of 8 rec 104 yds and two TDs. The Chargers defense bleeds fantasy points to WRs.

Deep Threat | Michael Thomas $6,900 vs DET

Quickly becoming Brees’ favorite target in this offense — especially in the red zone.

Hail Mary | Will Fuller $5,600 @ GB

This one is truly a “hail mary” as he has done very little since the first month of the season, but he looked good last week against the Chargers and he seemed to have recovered from his injuries. He is a big play threat and against the soft secondary of the Packers, he only needs one play to hit his value.

Missed Tackle | Allen Robinson $7,000 vs DEN

Okay, so no one was actually going to play him, but there weren’t a lot of top-tier’ish players to fade this weekend.

Others I like: Brandin Cooks $6,800, **Sammy Watkins $6,300

**Questionable

Tight Ends

Explosive Play | Tyler Eifert $6,800 vs PHI

Andy Dalton literally has no one else to throw too.

Deep Threat |  Eric Ebron $5,700@ NO

Yeah, it’s this game again. Ebron bounces back after last week in a big way.

Hail Mary | Vernon Davis $4,600@ ARI

I’m not expecting Jordan Reed to play in this game, and even if he does, he may be limited. Davis has found new life in Washington.

Missed Tackle | Greg Olsen $6,200 @ SEA

Man, how bad has he been over the last three weeks? I’m not risking his price tag for a game in Seattle.

Others I like: Hunter Henry $5,800

Defense

Explosive Play | Denver Broncos $5,000 @ JAC

Easily the best defense in the league, they are fully healthy and Blake Bortles likes to throw the ball to the other team. Enough said.

Deep Threat | Chicago Bears $4,500 vs SF

The Bears haven’t been terrible on defense. The 49ers have been terrible on offense.

Hail Mary | Philadelphia Eagles $4,300 @ CIN

Andy Dalton has no weapons left on this offense. The Eagles were an elite defense early in the season, I think they can be elite in this game.

Missed Tackle | Seattle Seahawks vs CAR $5,100

They are being priced as an elite defense. If you have watched any of their games lately, they are still good, but they are not elite.

Others I like: None
