DFS WNBA FanDuel Lineup Advice 5/22/18

Well, Sunday went well for you if you followed my advice. I missed on a few players, but overall it was pretty successful. I actually played a lineup on Sunday that was $2,700 under the salary cap and cashed pretty nicely. I don’t know if we will ever have a six-game slate again, but it was fun while it lasted.

Today we get a more typical two-gamer with the LA Sparks @ the Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces @ the Washington Mystics. The Aces are a pretty terrible team with half their roster still playing overseas, so I’m going to fade the Mystics’ players, but, on the other hand, the Aces are so short-handed that they have some good value plays we can take advantage of. Let’s get to it…

Guards

WNBA Fanduel Lineup 5/22/18

Tamera Young (LV) $3,000 @ WAS

I recommended Young on Sunday at the minimum price and she didn’t disappoint putting up 28.3 Fanduel points in 28 minutes. Surprisingly, Young’s price did not change and with Kelsey Plum and Kayla McBride still not with the team, Young should once again log 25-plus minutes and FanDuel points.

Chelsea Gray (LA) $6,300 @ IND

Gray is the top option at guard, and with some of the value on this slate, you shouldn’t have any issues fitting her in. She put up 48.4 Fanduel points in the opener, and even though 18 of those points came from steals, she can still put up 30-plus FanDuel points against a team that was dead last in defensive rating last season — giving up 107.8 points per 40 minutes in 2017.

Riquna Williams (LA) $3,200 @ IND

This will be an under-the-radar pick, but Williams had herself a good opening game, and despite only logging 17 minutes, still had 21.4 FanDuel points. If her play on Sunday earned her any extra court time tonight, she could be the steal of the night.

Erica Wheeler (IND) $4,800 vs LA

Wheeler is one of the few players who has already played two games, making it easier to for to determine what to expect from her. She is averaging 28 minutes in those two games putting up 25 Fanduel points on average. Her price limits her upside, but her price, on tonight’s slate, can be afforded.

Nneka Ogwumike (LA) $8,000 @ IND

With the blow-out potential in the other game, potentially limiting Elena Delle Donne’s value, the top play at forward is Ogwumike at $8,000. She put up a shade under 40 FanDuel points in the opener and should be able to improve upon that mark tonight.

Nia Coffey (LV) $3,000 vs WAS

Coffey is another player that is benefiting from a bunch of the Aces’ still overseas. She logged 24 minutes in the opener, and even though she only put up 18 Fanduel points, her price tag is low enough that 18 is acceptable. There won’t be many slates with this much value, but be careful not to go “value overboard” and take too many chances with low priced players. You should have no issues fitting in the high-priced players on this slate.

Natalie Achonwa (IND) $3,300 vs LA

Achonwa is one of those players that doesn’t score a ton of WNBA points normally, but as we saw on Sunday, if she does manage to score some points, combined with her peripherals, she can be very valuable. I don’t know yet which Achonwa is the real one yet — the one that had 4 WNBA points and only 14.7 Fanduel points in her opener, or the one that had 21 WNBA points and 35.9 FanDuel points on Sunday, but it’s probably somewhere in between.

A’ja Wilson (LV) $4,800 vs WAS

Wilson burst onto the scene in her opener, and I don’t mean to beat a dead horse, but a lot of the Aces’ roster is still overseas, leaving a ton of minutes for the rookie. For what it’s worth, the Mystics aren’t as good defensively as the team she played in the opener and they play at a higher pace. Both bode well for Wilson to repeat her production.
