DFS WNBA FanDuel Lineup Advice 5/19/17

After a successful opening night, I’ve been unable to get back to writing any WNBA advice columns until today, but luckily today we get a three-game slate instead to the two games slates that we had during the week. There is still very limited info on all of these WNBA players, so be sure to check and re-check your lineups, some players will be returning from overseas soon, and that could impact some of the players we are currently using in our lineups. Without further ado, here is tonight’s top plays and values…

Guards

Odyssey Sims (LA) vs WAS $6,400

DFS WNBA Fanduel Lineup 5/19/17Sims is the clear-cut best option at the guard spot tonight. After her 20pts-6asst-4reb-2stls line on Saturday, her price took a sizable jump to $6,400, but she is worth paying up for tonight. The Mystics have the fourth worst defensive rating after one game, small sample size I know, but it’s all we have right now.

Tamera Young (CHI) vs ATL $5,200

Despite coming off the bench in the first game, she still logged 32 minutes. If she continues to see those type of minutes, and there is no reason to think that she won’t, she should maintain good production and give you good ROI (return on investment) at her $5,200 price tag.

Chelsea Gray (LA) vs WAS $5,200

Gray logged 28 minutes in the Sparks first game on Saturday and had an impressive stat line of 14pts/8asst/2reb/2stls and only one turnover. If she continues to see minutes in the upper 20s, she will continue to put up good fantasy numbers. As I mentioned, the Mystics have the fourth worst defensive rating so far this year.

Forwards

Brittney Griner (PHO) @ SA $6,300

DFS WNBA Fanduel Lineup 5/19/17To me, there are basically four forwards, and then “everyone else”. Griner has the best matchup on paper against a San Antonio Stars’ team that rank second to last in defensive ratings (small sample size). If the Mercury’s game plan is to feed Griner the way they did verse Indiana, she will have another huge game.

Nneka Ogwumike (LA) vs WAS $8,000

As good as she was in the Sparks opener, she could have been better. She only had four rebounds in that game after averaging over nine per game last year. If she can keep up the scoring and grab closer to her average in rebounds, she will be well worth the 8k.

Elena Delle Donne (WAS) @ LA $7,800

Della Donne had 24 real points in 23 minutes to go along with five rebounds. Now that is efficiency! Despite dealing with foul trouble and she still put up that impressive stat line. I’m expecting her to be even better in this game.

Emma Meesseman (WAS) @ LA $6,800

Meesseman was one rebound short of a double-double in their opener with 13pts/9rebs. She added five assists, one block, and two steals for a full stat line. I don’t know if she can repeat this level of performance tonight, but she is one of the more consistent players in the league, so there is no reason to think she can’t.

Value

G Leilani Mitchell (PHO) @ SA $3,300

DFS WNBA Fanduel Lineup 5/19/17After logging only 17 minutes on Sunday, she had 28 minutes in her last game. It’s tough to predict how many minutes she will see tonight, but at $3,300, there is definitely some upside. Especially when you consider the Stars rank as the second worst defensive team thus far.

F Imani Boyette (CHI) vs ATL $3,800

If you aren’t paying up for one the four top forwards, there is a trio of value plays at the position I like. The first of which is Boyette who logged 31 minutes in their opener. Her 12 rebounds is an impressive stat, but it was the five turnovers that have me worried. If she can limit her turnovers, at $3,800, you could worse.

F Jessica Breland (CHI) @ MIN $4,300

Another value forward with turnover issues. She put up a double-double to open her season on Sunday, but she also had six turnovers. She logged 29 minutes, which you like to see in a player priced under $4,500.

F Damiris Dantas (ATL) @ CHI $4,400

Dantas, while she didn’t log as many minutes as the other two value forwards I featured, had the most efficient opening night of the three. With 25.5 FanDuel points in 25 minutes, her fantasy points per minute are better than the other two. Both the Sky and the Dream play at a fairly high pace and the over/under in this game is the highest on the slate at 163.5 with only a 1.5 point spread. That means lots of points to go around.

G Danielle Robinson (PHO) @ SA $4,200

My last value of the day is Robinson. She is averaging 30 minutes per game over her first two games and has put up some fairly good assist numbers, averaging 7.5 per game over the first two games. She gets a good matchup with the against her former team tonight, so there is some revenge narrative as she was traded in January to the Mercury.
