After treating us to a few three and four-game slates, we are back to the two-game variety. I’m not sure if FanDuel decided the two-game slates didn’t work well, or they are only doing them during the weekdays. Either way, with such a short slate, I’m only going to point out the values that I see…
$4,500 and under
Guards
Karima Christmas-Kelly (DAL) @ PHO $4,200
After struggling in her first two games, KCK finally came through on Thursday, playing 34 minutes and putting up 30.1 FanDuel points. The Mercury, the team she faces tonight, are playing good defense so far this year, in fact, they are the No. 1 rated defense with an 86.6 rating, but don’t let that scare you off Christmas-Kelly. She will get 30-plus minutes again tonight and at $4,200 she is a nice value.
Essence Carson (LA) @ ATL $3,400
After playing 33 minutes in her last game, she should be in the starting lineup going forward. The Sparks wanted to work her back in slowly after missing the first game of the season while still playing overseas. She has a tough matchup, but at $3,400 she is hard to pass up.
Stephanie Talbot (PHO) vs DAL $4,400
Talbot’s minutes have increased in each of her four games this season and her production has followed suit. The Wings are ranked in the middle of the pack defensively, but they play at the highest pace of any WNBA team so far this season, which generally means more scoring.
Forwards
Sancho Lyttle (ATL) vs LA $4,400
For value forwards, there is a lot to be desired. I could only come up with two options on tonight’s slate and I don’t love either one. Lyttle plays a good amount of minutes at 25 per game, and her production is also fairly average. What does work in her favor is her consistency so far this season, in three games she has had 19.5, 19.1 and 18.2 FanDuel points. Not much upside, but probably won’t put up too many single digits either.
Cayla George (PHO) vs DAL $3,300
The only thing to like about George is her price tag and that her minutes have trended up, in fact, they have increased in each of her first four games. She played only 11 minutes in the first game but played 20 in the last game.
