DFS WNBA FanDuel Lineup Advice 6/1 – 6/2 (Thurs-Fri Slate)

Last night wasn’t my best night that’s for sure. Only one of my values panned out, not to mention I didn’t realize the games were so early so I didn’t even have a lineup made. Oh well, live and learn. Tonight we have another two-game slate, but it’s one that spans two days so breaking news will have to be monitored for the Friday games. Here are my top plays and values for Thursday and Friday…

Guards

Skylar Diggins-Smith (DAL) @ NY $7,300

The big decision at guard will be Diggins-Smith or Cappie Pondexter. I’m giving the slight edge to the former based on the defense of the Phoenix Mercury and their ability to slow down Pondexter somewhat.

Sugar Rodgers (NY) vs DAL $6,100

With Epiphanny Prince out for at least three weeks to go play for EuroBasket, one of the likely beneficiaries is Rodgers. Prince’s usage rate was 23.3 percent, the second-highest on the team behind only Tina Charles, and that usage will now get spread out among the other players on the team.

Karima Christmas-Kelly (DAL) @ NY $4,700

Surprisingly, after her 33.1 FanDuel point explosion, her price didn’t go up. While I’m not expecting another game like her last one, her price means I won’t have to. The matchup tonight isn’t quite as good as her last game, but it’s not a bad matchup either.

Forwards

Brittney Griner (PHO) @ CHI $8,900

The big decision at forward will be Griner or Tina Charles. I’m leaning slightly towards Griner because I feel she has the higher upside. Griner already has two 50 FanDuel point games to her name this year and a third at 45, while Charles’ highest total on the year was 43 FanDuel points.

Glory Johnson (DAL) @ NY $5,000

The mid-tier at forward will have you deciding between Johnson, Stefanie Dolson, and Jessica Breland. I’m giving the edge to Johnson based on a few things. One being both Dolson and Breland are going up against the defense of Brittney Griner and the Mercury who rank No. 1 in defensive ranking. I’m putting Johnson over Dolson because after Dolson’s 42 FanDuel point game in Atlanta, her production has decreased in each of the three games since that game.

Values

G Shavonte Zellous (NY) vs DAL $3,000

This is an easy one. She will likely be the highest owned value on the slate for two reasons. One, she just played a season-high with 34 minutes and also had a season-high with 22 FanDuel points. Two, and the bigger reason, she is the likely candidate to replace Epiphanny Prince in the lineup now that Prince has left for EuroBasket.

G Shay Murphy (PHO) @ CHI $3,000

Murphy is a true “punt” but could be a good contrarian to Zellous in tournaments. She returned from a hamstring injury in her last game and logged 17 minutes scoring 14.6 FanDuel points. That’s nothing to write home about, but it’s decent production from a $3,000 guard on a two-game slate.

F Kayla Thorton (DAL) @ NY $3,200

If she can continue to log 20-plus minutes off the bench, Thorton’s rebounding will keep her viable for DFS as long as her price stays below $3,500. She is a risk, but one worth taking if you are trying to take down a tournament.
