DFS WNBA FanDuel Lineup Advice 7/12 (Wednesday Slate)

What a time to be alive, DraftKings recently introduced WNBA contests.  Wednesday is a big four-game slate with both sites offering $100,000 contests.  Get some!

Guards

Diana Taurasi FD $5,600 DK $9,600

(PHO) vs ATL

If you are examining the salaries for both sites you will notice immediately how much softer FD’s pricing is.  Does a $4,000 difference in salary for Diana Taurasi make her unplayable on DK?  No, since DT has averaged 32.11 FD pts per game against ATL for her career and that isn’t taking into account the 3pt bonus on DK.  Still, $9.6k on DK is asking a lot out of DT and I would only recommend her as a GPP option there, but on FD I think she is good for cash and GPP games.  Let’s hope DT embraces the ATL pace (lack of defense) and doesn’t get double technicals again.

Courtney Vandersloot FD $5,600 DK $7,900

(CHI) vs DAL

WNBA FandDuel DraftKings Lineup 7/12/17

Vandersloot started Saturday due to Cappie Pondexter entering concussion protocol and she took advantage by posting 49.9 FD pts and 56.25 DK pts.  Slooty simply played out of her mind putting up 26 pts, 13 ast, 7 reb, and made 3 threes.  I don’t know if we can expect this kind of production maybe ever again from Slooty, even if Pondexter is out for her second game.  If Cappie can’t go Slooty can be used on both sites in all formats (just don’t expect 50 fantasy pts) and if Cappie does suit up and starts I see Courtney as a total fade.  Actually, if Pondexter starts, at her $4,700 FD and $5,600 DK salary she becomes a great GPP option, almost too cheap not to play.

Allisha Gray FD $5,300 DK $7,700

(DAL) @ CHI

Brittney Sykes FD $5,500 DK $7,600

(ATL) @ PHO

Two of the best rookies in the WNBA have been core plays for me as of late due to their consistency.  Over Gray’s last five games she has averaged 31.6 mpg, 14.8 pts, 3.8 reb, 1.4 ast, 1.2 blk, and 1.8 stl for 26.86 FD pts or 28.05 DK pts per game.  On the other hand, we have Sykes who has been averaging 31.8 minutes, 16.6 pts, 5.8 reb, 1.2 ast, 1.4 blk, and 1 stl per game for 28.16 FD pts or 30.25 DK pts over her last five.  As you can see these two rookie guards are all about scoring but they also provide some nice peripheral stats such as rebounds and blocks.  On DK I like Sykes slightly better than Gray due to the 3pt bonus (Sykes 1.4 3 PM in her L5), but on FD both are playable in all formats.

Alex Montgomery FD $4,300 DK $4,700

Kelsey Plum FD $3,400 DK $4,100

Sydney Colson FD $3,100 DK $3,300

(SA) @ IND

So all three of these guards could be in play depending on Moriah Jefferson’s ability to suit up (concussion).  Alex Montgomery has started the past three games and has averaged 27 minutes, 9 pts, 6.3 reb, 2 ast, and 1.3 stl for 21.93 FD pts or 23.75 DK pts.  Her price has risen, but she should start again which makes her playable on both sites and in all formats.  Now Plum and Colson heavily depend on Jefferson being out.  Kelsey Plum has seen a nice bump in minutes and production with Monique Currie off to PHO and Jefferson being injured.  Over the last three games Plum has averaged 23.6 mpg, 8 pts, 2.6 reb, and 4 ast for 14.86 FD pts or 16.83 DK pts.  If Jefferson is out again and Plum gets the start I like her on both sites and in all formats as a low priced guard.  Colson doesn’t offer the upside of plum but costs $3000-$800 less than Plum depending on which site you play on.   If you need to sneak in some high priced forwards look to Colson if Jefferson is out again.  In the last two games Colson has received 19 (partial Jefferson) and 20 minutes.  In this two game span she has averaged 8 pts and 3.5 ast for 13.35 FD pts or 14.12 DK pts.  Again, if Jefferson is out for Wednesday Colson can be considered on both sites as a nice punt option.

Brittney Griner FD $8,900 DK $12,600

(PHO) vs ATL

WNBA FandDuel DraftKings Lineup 7/12/17

POW (Player of the week) Britney Griner demonstrated on Sunday against NY why fading her on any given slate can be costly.  She put up 59.6 FD pts and 63.75 DK pts.  BG has double-doubled in almost a third of her games which is a nice bonus on DK and she leads the league in points (22.2) and blocks (2.8) per game.  One of BG’s best attributes is her ability to get to the line at a shocking 7.6 times per game.    Griner has been averaging 39.88 FD pts over her last five games and has had two 55+ FD pt games in this time span.  On FD she is playable in all formats and on DK due to her elevated price tag she is more of an elite GPP option.

Breanna Stewart FD $8,400 DK $11,800

(SEA) vs CON

Breanna Stewart has been playing some great ball as of late, averaging 44.23 FD pts or 48.08 DK pts in her last three games.  Her ability to shoot threes and double-double makes her a great play on DK due to the bonuses.  Historically Stewart has averaged 36.67 FD pts against CON per game.  Both sites have priced Stewart compared to her last three games, so if you think she can continue to put up 40+ fantasy pts a game Stewart is an excellent play.  Due to FD’s softer pricing, I like Stewart in all formats but for DK her $11,800 salary pushes her to more of a GPP option.

Alyssa Thomas FD $7,800 DK $11,100

(CON) @ SEA

Alyssa Thomas POW has been one of my favorite forwards over the last month and she has really stepped up her game since Morgan Tuck and Lynetta Kizer went out.  Tuck is still out indefinitely and Kizer is back but has been very limited in her minutes and production, leaving Thomas as the Sun’s main SF/PF.  Over her last five games, she has averaged 34.44 FD pts or 37.4 DK pts per game.  Thomas can do a little of everything since she is averaging 15.4 pts, 7.2 reb, 6 ast, and 2.8 stl over her last five games.  With this said her DK salary makes her a tough play and pushes her to a GPP-only option, but for FD I think she can be considered in all formats.  In Alyssa’s one game against SEA this year she put up 35.5 FD pts and it was only stunted due to her 5 turnovers.

Camille Little FD $5,000 DK $6,000

(PHO) vs ATL

Camille Little has been surprisingly consistent lately but Sunday she hit a bump against NY where she only managed 2.4 FD pts.  With this being said I think Little’s dud on Sunday was more of an outlier since in her previous five games beforehand she was averaging 22.54 FD pts or 23.5 DK pts per game.  I think due to her performance last game and the slate size her ownership will be down.  Camille has a high floor but moderate ceiling, so at these salaries, she should be considered as a nice cash play.

Courtney Paris FD $3,200 DF $3,500

(DAL) @ CHI

Paris came back from injury last Wednesday and managed an impressive 4 pts, 5 rebs, and 2 ast in only 6 minutes of play.  For Sunday many people in the DFS community were heavily speculating how DAL would manage her minutes, well she got 15 minutes and produced 8 pts, 6 rebs, and 1 ast but had 3 TO.  CP is one of the best per-minute rebounders so it will be exciting to see if she can gather more minutes.  Either way, she is one of the few $3k forwards on either site that I believe has major upside.  I like her slightly more on DK due to her ability to possibly double-double.
