DFS XFL DraftKings Best Advice and Picks Week 2
I had a pretty good Week 1, and it would have been much better had I known Jordan Ta’amu was going to be a part-time QB. Having him instead of my second-favorite QB, AJ McCarron, probably cost me some money. But, overall it wasn’t a bad Week 1.
Quarterback
Brandon Silvers (HOU) vs. ARL $8,600
Silvers threw it a whopping 42 times in Week 1. Only Ben DiNucci had more attempts, but he’s $1,600 more expensive. Silvers plays in a Run-and-Shoot offense that is designed to throw the ball a ton. At only $8,600, Silvers is a steal even if he is playing one of the better defenses after Week 1.
Jack Coan (SA) @ ORL $8,200
Coan is a cost/matchup play. He is one of the lowest-priced starting QBs this week and he faces a Guardians team that allowed 33 points to Houston last week.
Running Back
De’Veon Smith (ARL) @ HOU $5,700
Smith was on the field for a league-leading (among running backs) 73.3 percent of the snaps (via ETR), and priced at a mere $5,700 is a steal. He had the 2nd-most carries of all RBs in Week 1
Kalen Ballage (SA) @ ORL $7,100
Ballage had the most carries by far with 24, gaining 84 yards on those carries. He also added three catches for 13 yards. He’s the 2nd highest-priced running back, but with that type of usage, he’s worth the expense.
Wide Receiver/ Tight End
Blake Jackson (SEA) vs. STL $6,400
Be sure to check his availability, as he is listed as questionable (thumb), but if he plays he is way too cheap. He is tied for the second-most catches at eight and had the third-most targets at 11.
Tyler Vaughns (ARL) @ HOU $3,000

Vaughns is way too cheap at a mere $3,000 after being targeted five times in Week 1, catching four for 38 yards. He was second on the team in targets and catches to TE Sal Cannella who priced $3,500 more than Vaughns.
Deontay Burnett (HOU) vs. ARL $8,500 / Jontre Kiklin (HOU) vs. ARL $7,100
Both of these WRs are linked to my No. 1 QB this week, Brandon Silvers, and both are viable options in a stack. You could potentially stack them both with Silvers and bring it back with Tyler Vauhgns on the other side as the value option. Both receivers are Top 5 in DraftKings points after one week.
Jahcour Pearson (SEA) vs. STL $7,300
Pearson is likely one of the highest own WRs this week after getting a whopping 14 targets in Week 1, catching 12 for 95 yards. That is insane usage, and he is only priced as the third-highest WR because he didn’t catch a touchdown in Week 1.
Defense
DC Defenders @ VGS $4,300
The defenders were dominant in the second half of their primetime Sunday night game, getting two sacks, two interceptions, and a TD all after halftime. Last week the Renegades’ defense made the Vegas offense look very uncomfortable, sacking the QB three times, catching two interceptions, and getting two defensive TDs. The Defenders should eat in this game.
