[do_widget subscribe] Top Pitching Options

Corey Kluber (DK – $10900, FD – $11100) – On a night filled with top pitching options again, Kluber stands out as one of the top options. In his last 5 games, Kluber has struck out 59 hitters and only allowed 9 runs. On the year, he sports a 2.37 SIERA and 30.6% strikeout rate, both among the best in baseball. He also has an elite matchup against the Mariners, who have a 0.292 wOBA (27th) and 23.6% strikeout rate () vs. RHP. He’s also a -180 favorite on the day, making him a great option in cash games and GPPs.

Francisco Liriano (DK – $9700, FD – $9500) – Along with Kluber, Liriano is in the discussion for the top pitching option on the night (and is $1200 cheaper). He’s the biggest favorite on the day at -210 and faces a rookie pitcher in Taylor Jungmann, making his first MLB start. Liriano has pitched very well on the year, with a 2.95 SIERA and 30.0% strikeout rate. His pitching at home, in pitcher friendly PNC Park, against a Brewers team that struggles against LHP – 0.267 wOBA (29th) and 23.3% strikeout rate (26th). Due to his elite matchup, weak pitching opponent, pitcher friendly park, and cheaper price tag, Liriano is my favorite pitching play of the day.

Eduardo Rodriguez (DK – $7100, FD – $8200) – Rodriguez pitched very well in his first two starts of his career, allowing only one run, five hits and four walks while striking out 14 and lasting 7 innings in each outing. Although a small sample, he’s got a 3.18 SIERA, 0.61 WHIP, and 26.4% strikeout rate. Rodriguez also has a decent matchup against an Orioles team with only a 0.304 wOBA (20th) and 19.8% strikeout rate (10th) vs. LHP. At this price point, Rodriguez makes a nice play.

Other Options: Dallas Keuchel vs. CWS; Chris Heston vs. NYM

Top Hitting Options

Kris Bryant 3B (DK – $4400, FD – $4200) – After reaching $5k, Bryant’s price has come back down to a playable mid-$4k range, landing at $4400 for the Cubs’ game against the Tiger. Sanchez allows a 0.366 wOBA to RHH and Bryant has put up a 0.391 wOBA and 0.200 ISO vs. RHP on the year. Bryant is always a strong cash game play as he always contributes and when the matchup is nice he becomes a great play.

Mark Canha 1B/OF (DK – $3400, FD – $2800) – Canha has quietly put together a few good games and is having a solid year. Canha started all three games of the last series against the Red Sox and put up 5 H, 3 R, 1 2B, 1 HR, and 3 RBI. On the year, he’s posting a 0.403 wOBA and 0.268 ISO vs. RHP (in 109 PA, so no small sample size). The A’s face a weak pitcher in Nick Martinez, who has a 4.67 SIERA and 0.361 wOBA vs. RHH.

Ichiro Suzuki OF (DK – $2800, FD – $2500) – Ichiro has seen limited action this year but when he plays, he has produced. He has a 0.394 wOBA vs. LHP this year and Mark Buehrle, in addition to his 4.76 SIERA, allows a 0.392 wOBA to LHH. If Ichior is in the lineup, he’s a solid value play.
