Draftkings and Fanduel MLB Lineup Advice 9/2/15 by RotoTrick

Top Pitching Options
Clayton Kershaw (DK – $14600, FD – $13300) – Kershaw is on the slate again and it’s no surprise that he’s the top option again. He will cost you a pretty penny, but he’s worth it. If you think he’s too expensive, consider that Kershaw’s price has been between $14-15K for weeks and over his last 10 games he’s hit 30 Draftkings points 8 times and 45 points 4 times. The easily hitting 2X ROI and often 3X. When you can almost guarantee a pitcher will hit 2X, he should be a lock in cash games. You don’t need to hear his stats again, but Kershaw has a sick 2.21 SIERA and 33.1% strikeout rate on the year. The Giants have been riddled with injuries lately and have a 0.295 wOBA (27th) over the last 14 days. Kershaw should dominate again.

Cole Hamels (DK – $10800, FD – $10700) – Hamels looked dominant his last time out, picking up 10Ks in 8 IP while allowing no runs and only 2 hits against Baltimore. On the year, he sports a 3.42 SIERA and 25.1% strikeout rate. He also gets a great park shift going to PetCo and leaves the DH behind for the pitcher and a few extra Ks. The Padres have a 0.294 wOBA (25th), 89 wRC+ (22nd), and 23.3% strikeout rate (27th) against LHP. With big names like Kershaw, Scherzer, and Harvey on the slate, he will fly under the radar and go much lower owned, but have almost as much upside.  Hamels is a great GPP play, SP1, or SP2 play.

Kevin Gausman (DK – $6200, FD – $6700) – On the year Gausman has a decent 3.70 SIERA and 20.7% strikeout rate. Over the last 30 days, he’s been slightly better with a 3.56 SIERA and 21.5% strikeout rate. He’s also hit 20 DK points in 4 of his last 7 outings. He comes with risk, but makes a nice GPP play in a good matchup against a weak Rays offense. The Rays have hit LHP well, but have struggled with RHP with a 0.297 wOBA (29th) and 21.6% strikeout rate (26th).

Top Hitting Options

Today’s hitting plays will focus on cheap, sub-$4k options to help fit in Kershaw and/or another top pitcher.

Ben Paulsen 1B/OF (DK – $3700, FD – $3500), Jake Lamb 3B (DK – $3900, FD – $3600) , and Wellington Castillo (DK – $3900, FD – $3900) – Coors exposure for under $4000 and they all usually hit in the top 5 or 6. Solid and reasonably priced options for any lineup type.

Prince Fielder 1B (DK – $3600, FD – $2800) – He’s been quiet of late and has seen his price drop dramatically, but he’s riding a 7 game hit streak and hit a homerun last night. He now gets to face the weakest righty of the series for the Padres in Ian Kennedy and his price hasn’t budged at all. He offers tremendous value at this price point.

Trayce Thomson OF (DK – $2700, FD – $3000) – Thomson has received the nod against the last few lefties the White Sox have faced and he’s don’t nothing but produce. He’s gone 15-for-32 with 3 walks, 5 runs, and 7 extra base hits on the year. At less than $3K, he’s a nice bargain.
