FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Advice for 12/25/15

Merry Christmas everybody! I hope today you get to spend a lot of time with family and enjoy this holiday vacation. As always, this Christmas day will be packed with some NBA basketball for families to sit and watch. Starting at noon eastern time, there should be a game on TV to watch all day long, and it should be a pretty action packed five game NBA slate. Every game on the ledger is predicted to score at least 200 points according to their over/under’s, meaning it should be a very fantasy friendly night tonight for us DFS players. Everyone knows guys like LeBron, Curry, KD and Westy are going to have great nights, so in this article I’ll briefly be mentioning a value player at each position to keep your eye on so that you can afford those studs in order to win some cash tonight and make this holiday even more special. Here is my FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Advice for 12/25/15.

PG- Patrick Beverly, vs. Spurs ($4,200): Normally, I would be very hesitant to pick a point guard facing the stingy Spurs defense, but tonight is under slightly different circumstances. Most days I’d pick the Spurs to absolutely destroy the Rockets in this contest, but these Christmas day games which are nationally televised always seem to hold a little more magic than normal. I think the Rockets will play well tonight at home and give their fans something to cheer for, and I think Beverly will be a huge key in order to make that happen. I’m not expecting a ton from him, but his minutes have steadily been at 30+ and expecting 25-ish FanDuel points from him in reasonable. (note: keep an eye on Goran Dragic’s situation, if he sits then Beno Udrih is a great cheap choice vs. bad Pelicans defense)

SG- JJ Redick, @ Lakers ($4,600): Not only are the Lakers second worst in the NBA in terms of FanDuel points allowed per game to opposing shooting guards, but they’ve allowed the most FanDuel points to the position over the past 5 and past 10 games played. Combine that with the fact that Redick has been hot lately, averaging 18 points on 45% shooting in his past 5 games played, and he becomes a very cheap and attractive option for tonight. He won’t do a whole lot else other than score, but I expect him to score easily against this weak Lakers defense and rack up a good amount of FanDuel points in this inner-city rivalry game.

SF- Luol Deng, vs. Pelicans ($4,700): After starting off the year hurt and playing inconsistently, Deng has somewhat turned his performance around. He’s averaging 12 points with 5 rebounds with 1.8 steals and 1.6 threes per game over his past 5 games played, which is admirable play from the aging veteran. Take into account that the Pelicans have the second worst defensive rating in the NBA, and Deng is looking like an attractive option to give some good value as a super cheap small forward option.

PF- Bobby Portis, @ Thunder ($3,800): Words cannot express how excited I am that Joakim Noah is out 2-4 weeks with injury. No offense to Noah, I love the dude and the way he plays the game, but I really wanted a door to open for an extended period so that Bobby P could showcase his skills to the league. We’ve seen glimpses of what this man can do, as he just went off for 20 points and 11 boards in only 23 minutes of court time when Pau Gasol was down with an injury. Coach Hoiberg was trying to get Portis some time even before Noah went down with this injury, and now that a spot has opened up I am very excited to see what he can do with his consistent playing time. I honestly think Bobby will have a fantastic game tonight even against this tough Thunder squad. He doesn’t have to do a ton to reach his value since he’s only $3,800, but I think he’ll greatly exceed that low value. Get Bobby Portis in your lineups and watch his coming out party tonight.

C- Steven Adams, vs. Bulls ($4,100): I’m kind of surprised that Adams is as cheap as he is. I know his ceiling isn’t too high, but he seems to consistently give a solid 20 FanDuel points every night as the team’s starting center. The Bulls have given up the sixth most FanDuel points to opposing centers so far this year, and I’m sure losing Joakim Noah will not help their case there any. Adams should be able to grab some boards, block a few shots and give his owners a solid return if they choose to employ him as a cheap center option tonight.

Thanks for reading guys, good luck and Merry Christmas!
