FanDuel NFL Cash Game Plays Week 8

QB

Russell Wilson (SEA) $8,600: The Wilson-to-Tyler Lockett connection burns bright this season, and the duo’s connection down the field only seems to get stronger with age. Thanks in large part to Lockett, Wilson ranks in the top-five for completed air yards (1,225, No. 3), adjusted yards per attempt (8.9, No. 3) and fantasy points per dropback (0.59, No. 1) per PlayerProfiler. The matchup against the Falcon is ripe for the picking, and this game features the highest total over/under on the week (53.5).

RB

Saquon Barkley (NYG) $8,600: With Danny Dimes in decline, Barkley is due for his first blowup game since returning from a high ankle sprain. And he finds himself in the perfect get-right spot facing Detroit. The Lions let Jamaal Williams average 7.4 YPC en route to 14 carries for 104 yards in Week 6. They then followed that up by giving up 142 yards and two TDs to Dalvin Cook. Detroit’s a beatable rush defense that allows an average of 139.2 yards per game.

WR

Tyler Lockett (SEA) $7,200: I don’t care about the narratives I just know this: Lockett is good at the football. And Wilson is good and getting it into his hands. The only team that ranks worse than Atlanta in pass DVOA is the hapless Miami Dolphins. Atlanta allows an average of 274 passing yards per game and is tied with Arizona for most receiving TDs allowed (17). Individually, Lockett draws the fourth-best matchup rating among WRs (25.20) against CB Damontae Kazee per RotoGrinders.

TE

Cameron Brate (TB) $5,200: The Juice won’t be let loose this week, so fire up Brate. Amid trade rumors and a stretch of terrible play, O.J. Howard came out of left field with an injury designation mid-week following the Bucs’ bye week. Fascinating. With Howard out of the lineup in Weeks 12-15 last season, Brate posted nine catches for 83 yards and three TDs.

D/ST

Carolina Panthers $3,500: The Panthers come in cheap and they’ve been solid this season in averaging 12.00 FD points per game. Carolina also ranks No. 3 in total DVOA and DVOA vs. pass, per Football Outsiders. In what figures to be a defensive slugfest, the Panthers face fellow defensive juggernaut San Francisco in a game with the second-lowest over/under of the week (42.0). The Niners rank No. 2 in total DVOA.

Week 8 Sample Lineup

QB: Russell Wilson
RB: Saquon Barkley
RB: Todd Gurley
WR: Tyler Lockett
WR: Michael Thomas
WR: Larry Fitzgerald
FLEX: Corey Davis
TE: Cameron Brate
D/ST: Carolina Panthers

Week 7 Rewind

I got back on track and cashed in 3-of-3 50/50s last week thanks in no small part to Dalvin Cook and DeAndre Hopkins. Those who knew to stick with Nuk through his, ahem, rough patch were rewarded handsomely. However, stacking him with Deshaun Watson didn’t set the world on fire. Tyler Boyd, on the other hand, was a bad idea. His five receptions for 55 yards and a fumble didn’t help anyone’s lineup. He’s notched five games with 10 or fewer FD points this season. The Lazard King also flamed out but at the price, it simply didn’t matter.

QB: Deshaun Watson (HOU) $8,300 [17.52, 2.1x value] RB: Dalvin Cook (MIN) $8,300 [27.4, 3.3x value] RB: Leonard Fournette (JAC) $7,900 [15.5, 2.0x value] WR: DeAndre Hopkins (HOU) $8,000 [21.1, 2.6x value] WR: T.Y. Hilton (IND) $7,600 [16.4, 2.2x value] WR: Tyler Boyd (CIN) $5,600 [6, 1.1x value] FLEX: Allen Lazard (GB) $4,500 [5.7, 1.3x value] TE: Hunter Henry (LAC) $5,400 [12.7, 2.2x value] D/ST: Minnesota Vikings $3,800 [3, 0.8x value]
