Fantasy football Cut’em or Keep’em: Week 11

Real Talk. How are we already in week 11???? It seems like just yesterday I was reading ESPN’s fantasy edition magazine, doing my 100th mock draft, and planning out an exciting season to come. It has been 196 days since ESPN’s mock drafts open, and 67 days since week one kicked off the season. Injury wise, Adrian Peterson played most recently 60 days ago, and Teddy Bridgewater last suited up 319 days ago (how have the Vikings put together a winning season?).

There also have been some busts over the past ten weeks. Deandre Hopkins put up over 15 points in consecutive weeks 396 days ago, and Todd Gurley averaged over 4.00 YPC 326 days ago. Don’t ask me why, but people keep starting them weekly.

On the other end of the spectrum, Demarco Murray scored UNDER 10 points since December of last year.

In my life, I took my last test three days ago, lost my last fantasy matchup nine days ago, and turned my last paper in six days ago.

A LOT can happen in seven days, and clearly a lot can happen in 396 (Remember that guy Marshawn Lynch?). What will happen over the next seven days? Probably a lot, so you need to make SURE you have space on your team for waiver pick ups. Who should you cut to free that space? Just let me do my work.

Cut’em or Keep’em Week 11

 Christine Michael, (GB) 66.1% owned

Christine Michael, who scored over 15  points three times in his first five games, was cut by the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday. Seattle needed to clear space for sophomore RB Thomas Rawls, but did not want to cut two youthful RBs in Alex Collins and CJ Prosise. Michael was immediately dropped in a handful of leagues, but they acted too soon. The Packers promptly signed the journeyman RB, and he may have a big impact there. Current incumbent  James Starks just missed multiple weeks due to injury, and his status could mean more snaps for Michael. Don’t drop him just yet.   Verdict: Keep

Ty Montgomery, (GB) 63.1% owned

Montgomery, a natural WR, took a significant amount of snaps from the tailback position over the past few weeks. He established himself as a solid flex, but it’s unlikely he keeps that place on your depth chart. James Starks recently returned from injury, Christine Michael signed with Green Bay, and he played only 22 snaps in his most recent game. It seems that Montgomery no longer has a role in Mike Mccarthy’s offense, so he should not had a spot on your team.    Verdict: Cut

  Matt Jones, (WAS) 52.9% owned

Last week Rob Kelley ran extremely well, and as a Redskins fan I’m always excited to see a good performance from one of our backs. If I were a Matt Jones fan, I’d be pissed. Either way, Jones was inactive even though he was healthy which is worrisome for his owners.   Verdict: Cut

Jeremy Maclin, (KC) 79.2% owned

One thing I’ll never understand is why people would draft Jeremy Maclin. The dude was a flex at best going into the year, and had literally no upside. He’s the #3 option in the most conservative offense in the entire world. This season, he’s lived up to the potential of not being a startable WR! Congrats! Maclin has yet to put up over 80 yards so far, and still hasn’t hit 15 points in one game.   Verdict: Cut

Desean Jackson, (WAS) 62.5% owned

Yea, so I thought Jackson was gonna be a WR2 this year. Good one.   Verdict: Cut
