Fantasy Football Cut’em Or Keep’em: Week 12

Two days removed from Thanksgiving, and my house is still functioning superbly on leftovers. Granted, my last five meals have been based around assorted pies. This year, we changed it up. Pumpkin and apple were obviously included, but my family also produced a key lime and chocolate pie, and even fruit tart. Of course, all pies are  delicious but you have to correctly budget your appetite.

First off, we have key lime pie. It’s in a world of its own. On Thanksgiving, it might be hard to get those delicious limes directly out of the Florida Keys, but either way, they’ll do. The delicious combination of tangy lime and sweetness may be the best part of every single Thanksgiving dinner.

Next, we have the staple of America: Apple Pie. Who likes apple pie? Oh, only the PRESIDENT. When this pie’s crust is buttery and flakey, nothing can beat it. Add some vanilla ice cream? Whew.

Third, Pecan Pie. I’ve only eaten this dessert once in the past few years, but it was AMAZING.

When it comes down to it, eat everything. No questions asked.

Cut’em or Keep’em Week 12

TJ Yeldon, (JAX) 62.9% owned

I wrote about Yeldon a few weeks ago, and I assumed he would have an ownage rate below 50%. Apparently, his owners don’t care that he hasn’t had over 15 touches since week four. Take a hint. Yeldon now is injured, and that lower his effectiveness even more. Lastly, backup Chris Ivory has seen his snaps increase every week since week four.  Verdict: Cut

Tevin Coleman, (ATL) 76.1% owned

Coleman’s been inactive the past seven weeks due to a nagging hamstring injury. Some hopeful news came about Wednesday when Coleman said he felt great after being a full participant in practice. Prior to getting hurt, Coleman had double digit points in 71% of his matchups. Verdict:  Keep

 Allen Hurns, (JAX) 64.1% owned

Carl Douglas, New Radicals, Allen Hurns. What do these terms have in common? One hit wonders. After a breakout 2015 season with 10 touchdowns, Hurns has struggled this season. Hurns is the 88th ranked WR according to Pro Football Focus, with an overall grade of 53.1. Whether this regression is a result of the Jaguars overall struggles, or simply Hurns not being a great receiver, it’s time to let him go. Verdict: Cut

 Eli Manning, (NYG) 77.5% owned

This one pains me to write. After struggling profusely through his first seven games, Manning’s put up over 17 three consecutive times. He finishes the season with great matchups such as PIT, WAS, DAL, and CLE. It seems as though Manning has finally hit his rhythm, and coming from a Redskins fan, you have to respect that. Great matchups + QB on a hot streak=Opportunity to pick a top ten QB over the last few games.  Verdict:  Keep

Alshon Jeffery, (TEAM) 71.5% owned

I never thought I’d be writing about Alshon Jeffery in this column. He’s one of the most talented WRs in the NFL, but injuries, a bad situation, and now PED suspensions have gotten in his way. He still has three of  four weeks to miss, but backups Cameron Meredith and Eddie Royal made no substantial impact in his absence against the Giants. He could be a savior in your fantasy playoffs, don’t give up just yet. Verdict:Keep
