Fantasy Football: Waiver Wire Adds Week 13

So another week is in the books and the wire is drying up, which is to be expected this late in the year. The big news is that injuries to Jimmy Graham and Rob Gronkowski should shake things up a bit.

Fantasy Football:Waiver Wire Adds Week 13

Running backs

David Johnson-Cardinals

He hasn’t had a large role this year, but, he has been getting the redzone looks. He has totaled just 139 yards and 4 touchdowns, but, only carried the ball 35 times.

During week 12 action, Andre Ellington and Chris Johnson both went down with injuries. Johnson has been diagnosed with a fractured Tibia and will be done for the year, Ellington has turf toe, it can be debilitating and lingering, Ellington also has a history of being a different player when hurt. This means David Johnson is back to being fantasy relevant. If you need RB help, the wire is bare and he may be your best option.

Charles SimsBuccaneers

Over the past few week, one thing we learned, is that Doug Martin is the guy. Martin has asserted himself as the number 1 option in the Bucs rushing game.

That doesn’t mean Sims loses his value, he has primarily done his damage as the 3rd down back, with some drives where he is the primary RB mixed in. In PPR leagues he could make for a sneaky flex play.

Wide Receivers

Keshawn Martin-Patriots

Tom Brady is quickly running out of receiving targets. The latest casualty of the Pats pass catchers was Rob Gronkowski. Nobody can replace Gronk, that goes without saying. Fortunately, we are hearing that the injury is not as serious as it first looked and that Gronk will be back soon.

However, that doesn’t mean the opportunity for someone to step up and become a late fantasy season producer isn’t their. Keshawn Martin would be that guy. He is decent at running patterns and should be able to develop some chemistry with Brady and if all else fails, well, his QB is Brady.

Marquess Wilson-Bears

Yes, we are digging deep here. The bottom line is, Eddie Royal, has spent more time hurt than healthy. When given the chance Marquess Wilson has stepped in and delivered some decent outings. I’m not saying he is an every week start, but, with the right matchup a he can help you win some games.

Tight end

Scott Chandler– Patriots

With Gronk going down with a knee injury this Patriots pass game has been flipped on its head. Injury after injury has depleted this offense of just about every pass catcher worth owning.

However, this is a Tom Brady ran offense, one must believe that new passing game options are about to emerge. A good place to start your search for Patriots next pass catcher is the TE position.

Scott Chandler has to be in line for some
Targets. The Patriots offense runs off the TE position. They aren’t just going to go away from throwing to the TE. Instead, Tom Brady is going to attempt to make a mediocre Scott Chandler, great. Chandler is worth an add if you’re one of the GMs who lost a TE yesterday. I’ve seen Brady make lesser talents fantasy options.

Crockett Gillmore-Texans

Gillmore is Emerging as the Ravens number 1 passing target. With Joe Flacco going down, who knows what kind of shape this offense is going to be in, but, if you lost your starting TE this week, like many did, then maybe you can find a spot on your roster for Gillmore.

On the season he has posted 29/385/4, but, he spent a good portion of the early season doing little to nothing with much less opportunity.

Quarterback

Jay Cutler- Bears

The Bears as a whole have been rolling lately. The offense has looked potent and the defense has actually looked decent, Cutler has also looked like a fantasy option once again.

The ownership on the QBs is pretty high and we are lucky to have a guy like cutler owned in less than half of leagues. He has been scoring at a good enough pace that he can become a fantasy option, week in and week out.
