Fantasy Football Week 7 Streamers: QB, TE, Team Defense

Week 7 is already here, but luckily for fantasy football owners only two teams (Detroit Lions, Houston Texans) are on a bye. Big injuries seem to be coming on a weekly basis, and Week 6’s was Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. That may leave his owners streaming quarterbacks from here on out, along with tight ends and defenses.

So, here are your quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers for Week 7.

Quarterback: Tyrod Taylor, Buffalo Bills vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Taylor has yet to even throw for 230 yards in a game this season, and his rushing production has dried up in recent weeks. But he has posted double-digit fantasy points (Yahoo! scoring) in all five of his games, and Week 7 brings a matchup that can’t be ignored.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have allowed the third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks so far this season (20 per game; ESPN scoring), with at least 283 passing yards allowed in all five of their games and multiple passing touchdowns allowed in three of their last four.

If Taylor is going to have a big game through the air, this week lines him up to do it at home against a vulnerable pass defense.

Others To Consider: Blake Bortles, Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts, Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers; Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams vs. Arizona Cardinals; Brett Hundley, Green Bay Packers vs. New Orleans Saints; Alex Smith, Kansas City Chiefs at Oakland Raiders (Thursday night)

Tight End: George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers vs. Dallas Cowboys

After scoring his first NFL touchdown and posting seven catches (on nine targets) for 83 yards against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5, Kittle followed up with four receptions (on eight targets) for 46 yards against the Washington Redskins in Week 6.

The 49ers will now go with fellow rookie (and college teammate) C.J. Beathard under center. Kittle had 42 receptions over two seasons as a primary target for Beathard at Iowa, with 10 touchdowns while averaging 14.4 yards per catch. So some rapport between the two surely already exists.

The Dallas Cowboys are firmly in the middle of the pack against tight ends so far this year (11.5 fantasy points per game, ESPN PPR scoring). But they have allowed double-digit PPR points to the position in four of five games, and the other was just shy (9.5 fantasy points, ESPN scoring).

Kittle is in line to continue a high-volume role in San Francisco’s passing game, and there is some garbage time potential on Sunday.

Others To Consider: Austin Hooper, Atlanta Falcons at New England Patriots; Antonio Gates, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Denver Broncos; Tyler Kroft, Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers; Jack Doyle, Indianapolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Team Defense: Tennessee Titans at Cleveland Browns

The Titans’ defense did not post big fantasy points against the Colts Monday night, but they did allow less than 17 offensive points for the second straight game and now the Cleveland Browns are on the slate for Week 7.

It clearly doesn’t matter who’s under center for the Browns, as DeShone Kizer has thrown a league-high nine interceptions in five games and Kevin Hogan followed up with three picks in his Week 6 start with five total interceptions of his own this season.

Sack totals have fluctuated against the Browns this season, but turnovers have pretty much been a constant and they’ve struggled to score points. So Tennessee’s defense is a no-brainer plug and play this week, even in a week that looks flush with nice team defense streamers.
