Free NBA DFS Fanduel Advice and Analysis 11/17/15

Game Winner My Game Winner will be my top play for the position. I’ll be using a combination of the matchup, recent performances, history against the current opponent and my gut to make my choices for the top play.

Dunk A Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside and is someone who should give you the highest return on investment (ROI)

Half-Court Shot Otherwise known as a “punt play”. This player will be at, or near, minimum salary, but is someone I believe has a chance to greatly outperform the salary.

Pass A player deemed a Pass is someone who I’m doing just that. Passing on him. This is a top-tier player that I’ll be avoiding for various reasons. The matchup, price, recent performances, or just a gut feel are a few things I’ll take in an account.

So let’s get started…

NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis for 11/17/15

Point Guard

Game Winner Stephen Curry, Warriors $11000

free nba dfs fanduel lineup and analysis for 11/17/15How could he not be my top play of the night? Dude is ridiculous right now, even on an off night he put up 44.6 against the Nets. The Raptors, by the numbers, are defending the point guard position pretty well, but that’s more a product of who they have played. Outside of Russell Westbrook they really haven’t played any of the top scoring point guards.

Dunk Emmanuel Mudiay, Nuggets $5900

My mantra early in the season has been, “Start the point guard facing the Pelicans.” This one isn’t quite the slam dunk as some of the other point guards they have played, but he will outperform his salary for sure.

Half-Court Shot Dennis Schroder, $4800

Jeff Teague has already been ruled out for this game, so Schroder will see a significant increase in minutes and is the likely starter. The Nets are in the bottom third of the league defending the point guard, and Schroder had 28 fanduel points against them earlier in the year.

Pass John Wall, Wizards $9200

This “pass” is a product of good DvP (defense versus position) for the Bucks, and the slow pace in which the Bucks play. Wall is a top-tier talent and could definitely have a good game here, but the numbers tell me to avoid him.

Shooting Guard

Game Winner Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks $7000

free nba dfs fanduel lineup and analysis for 11/17/15Alphabet has been a bit unpredictable so far this season, but his best game of the year came against these very same Washington Wizards, scoring 40.8 fanduel points on October 30th. Listed as a shooting guard on Fanduel, he actually plays more of the three than the two, in which case he gets to matchup with Otto Porter who is not a great defender. In fact, the Wizards are last in the league in fantasy points allowed to small forwards.

Dunk Eric Gordon, Pelicans $6000

The Denver Nuggets are last in the league in DvP at the shooting guard position, a whole three points worse than the second-worst team — the Oklahoma City Thunder. With Anthony Davis back, his scoring was down last game, but Davis can’t do it all. Gordon will step up tonight and reach value. This one is a bit risky, so buyer beware. (it might be important to note here, I’m a Pelicans fan, so there may be some fan blindness here)

Half-Court Shot Will Barton, Nuggets $5000

Up until just recently, the Pelicans were the worst team defending the shooting guard position. They didn’t really get better at it, their opponents just weren’t as good. Barton has been hot lately and is getting a ton of minutes, in large part due to Wilson Chandler‘s now “season ending” injury. He will get big minutes, here again, tonight.

Pass DeMar DeRozan, Raptors $7800

This pick is 90% gut and 10% analytics. Golden State ranks well in DvP, but DeDe can be matchup proof at times. I just feel a letdown game coming from him, something he has done often in the past.

Small Forward

Game Winner LeBron James, Cavs $10200

free nba dfs fanduel lineup and analysis for 11/17/15Small forward is a crap-shoot tonight and I feel as though James is the only one you can truly trust on this slate. Lebron and the Cavs have been hot to start the season but lost a winnable game to the Bucks. Because of that loss, James is going to come out super-aggressive against Detroit tonight.

Dunk Otto Porter Wizards $5500

Porter is in the midst of a breakout season, and even though a matchup with Alphabet is a tough one, Porter will still be able to reach value tonight, needing only 27.5 fanduel points to do so.

Half-Court Shot None

Nothing here, move along.

Pass Andrew Wiggins, Timberwolves $7000

Wiggins seems to be getting back to form recently, but I want to see it a few more times before I trust it. He is still not hitting value, despite his recent scoring outbursts. He is hard to trust.

Power Forward

Game Winner Chris Bosh, Heat $8200

free nba dfs fanduel lineup and analysis for 11/17/15Putting Anthony Davis here would have been easy enough, I mean he did score 81 against the Nuggets in the last game he faced them. So why Bosh? Excluding November 1st, he has scored 35 or more fanduel points in every game (Okay, he had 34.4 on 11/5, don’t be nit-picky), at $8200 his value mark is 35. That is what we call consistency. Not to mention he nearly $3,000 cheaper than Anthony Davis.

Dunk Thaddeus Young, Nets $5800

Young has been great recently, and even though the Hawks present a tough challenge, I think Young is still able to produce at a high-level tonight. This is one of my gut calls and I have a soft spot for Young because he was on my roster the other night when I nearly spiked my second GPP of the year. It’s risky, but I’m riding with ’em.

Half-Court Shot Kris Humphries, Wizards $4000

Humphries hit five three-pointers the other night in 30 minutes of action, and he is 13-for-28 (46.4%) on the year in three-pointers. Why is that significant? He has just two three-pointers previous to this year in his entire 11-year career! He has earned himself some playing time and a spot on my GPP roster.

Pass Kenneth Faried, Nuggets $7000

He is questionable tonight, but even if he plays I don’t like the matchup with Anthony Davis. If he plays, avoid him.

Center

Game Winner Brook Lopez, Nets $8000

Lopez111503576The Hawks and the Nets are two of the worst teams in DvP for centers, so I have put both centers here….

Dunk Al Horford, Hawks $7800

see Brook Lopez

Half-Court Shot Andrew Bogut, Warriors $5200

This one is a stretch, but he had 18 boards the other night and a ton of minutes. His price tag, and the offense he plays in makes him an option, albeit a risky one.

Pass Greg Monroe, Bucks $8200

Washington is pretty good on the interior and Monroe has struggled against the Wizards in the past. He is still viable, despite me passing on him because he is just that good, but I’ll be looking elsewhere.
