Free NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice 12/8/15

What’s up NBA Fanduel fans? Sorry, I wasn’t able to get anything up over the weekend. I can’t wait till the holiday season is over! I’m not going to waste a lot of time on an intro tonight, but I just want to quickly mention GoingFor2’s partnership with a new fantasy app call NoHalftime.

Basically, you challenge players in a head to head contests, but instead of drafting a team, you pick only one player. So if you think Russell Westbrook is going to score more fantasy points than Steph Curry tonight, put $10 on it. It’s that easy, and with our partnership you’ll get $10 free to play. You have nothing to lose for trying it out and you might actually win some money. Click the banner below, download the app, and get your $10. (you may have to close the app, and refresh it after creating an account to receive the $10)

Game Winner My Game Winner will be my top play for the position. I’ll be using a combination of the matchup, recent performances, history against the current opponent and my gut to make my choices for the top play.

Dunk A Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside and is someone who should give you the highest return on investment (ROI)

Half-Court Shot Otherwise known as a “punt play”. This player will be at, or near, minimum salary, but is someone I believe has a chance to greatly outperform the salary.

Pass A player deemed a Pass is someone who I’m doing just that. Passing on him. This is a top-tier player that I’ll be avoiding for various reasons. The matchup, price, recent performances, or just a gut feel are a few things I’ll take in an account.

So let’s get started…

NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis for 12/8/15

Point Guard

Game Winner Stephen Curry, Warriors $10,900

Free NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice 12/8/15It was a coin flip between Curry and Russell Westbrook, but ultimately I decided on Curry for the most unscientific reason, I want to see the Warriors go undefeated as long as possible. You can really go either way and be safe.

Dunk Elfrid Payton, Magic $6800

Towards the end of last year, I called Payton, “The Poor Man’s Ricky Rubio” because he could impact a game and get fantasy points without scoring. He was always close to getting triple-doubles pretty much game in and game out. He started the season slowly but has come on lately. A good matchup with the Nuggets might see him get his first trip-dub of the season.

Half-Court Shot Matthew Dellavedova, Cavs $4300

This one is based on the expectation that Mo Williams sits this one out. Delly isn’t a flashy option, but on a night where value is going to be hard to find, he may be your best option.

Pass Rajon Rondo, Kings $8300

I don’t necessarily hate Rondo tonight, I just think there are better options with him playing a tough defense in the Jazz.

Shooting Guard

Game Winner James Harden, Rockets $10,800

Free NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice 12/8/15I normally try not to just pick the highest priced player and call him the “Game Winner”, but Harden is head and shoulders better than the No. 2 guy on this list, so I had no choice. The Nets will not have an answer for Harden tonight.

Dunk C.J. McCollum, Blazers $7000

With two straight 35-plus games (this was written before the conclusion of the Por/Mil game) McCollum should be in-line for another good outing versus what could be a short-handed Cavs team.

Half-Court Shot J.R. Smith, Cavs $5300

His nickname is J.R. Swish, but in Fanduel I like to call him J.R. Miss. He tends to have a big game when you least expect it, and not show up on nights you think he has a good matchup. He is a risk/reward pick for sure, but with Mo Williams expected to miss the game, Dellavedova will start at point guard meaning Smith may not see the bench all night. What does Delly at the point have to do with Smith, you ask? I’ll explain. With Iman Shumpert still out, Delly has been the one filling in for Smith at the two guard, but if he is starting at point there is no one to give Smith a blow.

Pass Victor Oladipo, Magic $7600

Again, I don’t really hate Dipo here, but I have a hard time paying starter money for a guy coming off the bench.

Small Forward

Game Winner Paul George, Pacers $10,100

Free NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice 12/8/15Could this be the game that the Warriors fall? Only if George has something to do with it. Over the last three weeks, with Harrison Barnes out, the Warriors have struggled to defend the small forward position. Andre Iguodala will probably draw the assignment or possibly Draymond Green, but either way George is a top five player and will find a way to put up big numbers.

Dunk Gordon Hayward, Jazz $6700

I normally avoid Hayward on principle. He just seems to have too many of “those games” where he does nothing. But on a night where there isn’t much mid-range value at small forward, he has the best matchup.

Half-Court Shot Andre Iguodala, Warriors $4700

As I stated above, he may draw the Paul George assignment, which, if he defends well, will mean a ton of minutes for him. Anytime you get minutes in this offense, you’re going to get some production.

Pass Rudy Gay, Kings $7100

This is probably the first “Pass” that I do actually hate. The Jazz are a slow-paced team and they defend the small forward position well.

Power Forward

Game Winner Kevin Love, Cavs $7700

love1This one is a bit of a risky call for me as there are probably better options with Dray Green and Derrick Favors on this slate but after an awful showing in Miami with LeBron James out of the lineup, I’m expecting Love to have a bounce back game.

Dunk Thad Young, Nets $6800

Houston is and has been one of the worst defenses this season, and they especially struggle to defend the power forward position.

Half-Court Shot Ed Davis, Blazers $4900

Davis has been money in the bank over his last three games and Kevin Love is not a great defender so that string should continue.

Pass Zach Randolph, Grizzlies $6400

I don’t mean to beat a dead horse, but Randolph just isn’t playing well right now, and his price tag hasn’t dropped enough to be viable.

Center

Game Winner Brook Lopez, Nets $8200

img11259620This is by far the worst position on tonight’s slate. Cousin’s is probably the play here, but I’m going contrarian with Bro-lo for $1600 less.

Dunk Marc Gasol, Grizzlies $8100

With Randolph struggling, Gasol has stepped it up on the block, flirting with double-doubles nightly. I don’t love Gasol, but with this shallow position he may be one of the better options.

Half-Court Shot None

Plenty of punts, but none worth the risk to me. Pay up here and punt elsewhere.

Pass Nikola Vucevic, Magic $7200

Just not playing well right now.
