Update Two GPP lineups at the bottom for today

I took the night off last night from writing my daily column, I was not feeling well and went to bed early. My cash lineup from Tuesday may have has something to do with me not feeling well! Ugh, was it awful. Luckily I was bailed out by two GPP lineups that brought me even on the night.

My lineups for Wednesday may actually end up being good after starting out horribly, currently as I write this I’m 10 back in my cash game, 12 back with one of my GPP’s, and cashing easily in my other GPP.

Tonight’s slate is small and honestly I had a hard time filling out all the tiers for each position tonight, but let’s go ahead and jump right in, but before we began, my format:

Game Winner My Game Winner will be my top play for the position. I’ll be using a combination of the matchup, recent performances, history against the current opponent and my gut to make my choices for the top play.

Dunk A Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside and is someone who should give you the highest return on investment (ROI)

Half-Court Shot Otherwise known as a “punt play”. This player will be at, or near, minimum salary, but is someone I believe has a chance to greatly outperform the salary.

Pass A player deemed a Pass is someone who I’m doing just that. Passing on him. This is a top-tier player that I’ll be avoiding for various reasons. The matchup, price, recent performances, or just a gut feel are a few things I’ll take in an account.

So let’s get started…

NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis for 11/5/15

Point Guard

Game Winner Russell Westbrook, Thunder $10800

This one is probably the easiest call of the night. He is far and away the best play at the point guard, and you would be silly not to play him in your cash games. I’ll be only fading him in my GPP’s.

Dunk Ricky Rubio, Timberwolves $7700

Goran Dragic in not a great defender, and even if he was, Rubio doesn’t need to score to get you fanduel points. The O/U on this game is under 200, so it’ll be a low-scoring game, but I expect a lot of the games tonight to be low scoring.

Half-Court Shot Goran Dragic, Heat $6300

A little more expensive than a normal H-CS, but on a short slate there isn’t much to work with. This will be a good battle of point guards with Rubio and Dragic going at it and having them both in your lineup could be a good contrarian play to Russell Westbrook.

Pass Derrick Rose, Bulls $6900

He hasn’t gone over 25 fanduel points all season yet his price tag means he has to score 35 to reach value. I’ll pass.

Shooting Guard

Game Winner Jimmy Butler, Bulls $8000

Much like Westbrook, Butler is a no brainer. He is far and away the best two guard on tonight’s slate, and he will have to score a lot going up against the Thunder tonight.

Dunk C.J. McCollum, Trailblazers $6400

The Grizzlies are a good defense overall, but thus far have struggled a bit against shooting guards. McCollum isn’t the value he was a week ago, but on tonight’s slate you might not have a choice.

Half-Court Shot Rodney Hood, Jazz $4500

He is up and down in terms of fanduel production due to the fact that he doesn’t do much other than score, but with a matchup with Denver tonight scoring won’t be an issue. Denver is fourth-worst in the league in points given up to shooting guards.

Pass Dwyane Wade, Heat $7100

The process of elimination is how I landed on Wade. He could definitely be good tonight versus the Timberwolves, but I’d feel more comfortable paying up for Butler.

Small Forward

Game Winner Kevin Durrant, Thunder $10000

I’m really not trying to pick the most expensive guy and call him a top play, anyone can do that, but it just happens that the expensive guys tonight are by far the best players.

Dunk Nikola Mirotic, Bulls $6000

He burned me a little last time out, but his price is still in that “value” range and has actually dropped since his last game. Bulls will need to score in this one, and Mirotic should have no issue scoring on Kevin Durrant.

Half-Court Shot Al-Farouq Aminu, Blazers $5700

Yes, it is a tough matchup with the Grizzlies, but so was last night versus the Jazz and he still got you 26 fanduel points.

Pass Andrew Wiggins, Timberwolves $6900

The second highest priced player on tonight’s slate, but has six guys priced under him averaging more fanduel points.

Power Forward

Game Winner Chris Bosh, Heat $7900

Okay, my first guy that isn’t the most expensive player at his position! He might soon be one of the higher priced players if he keeps playing like he did versus the Hawks. The Timberwolves aren’t a good defensive team, luckily the Heat aren’t good enough to blow them out so Bosh will be playing in the fourth quarter.

Dunk Kenneth Faried, Nuggets $6900

Back to MANimal status again after getting 43 fanduel points against the Lakers. The Jazz are tough defensively, but Faried should be his usual double-double self tonight.

Half-Court Shot Marvin Williams, Hornets $4800

Dallas Mavericks are the worst team in the league against opposing power forwards. Marvin Williams is a power forward. Enough said.

Pass Pau Gasol, Bulls $7700

Gasol is here again. Sorry Pau, you just don’t fit in this new offense. I won’t be using him until his price is mid to low $6000’s.

Center

Game Winner Hassan Whiteside, Heat $8000

He should have a monster game against the Timberwolves, they just aren’t very good. He gets a strong double-double here.

Dunk Karl-Anthony Towns, Timberwolves $6600

Is he the 54 fanduel point player or the 21 fanduel point player? I think he is somewhere in between. This will be a good battle with Towns and Whiteside going at it.

Half-Court Shot None

Pass Rudy Gobert, Jazz $8100

Too inconsistent right now for my taste.

The 6th Man

(additional players I like)
