LCS: Week 6 Players to Pick Up

Week 5 of the NA and EU LCS was full of upsets, nail-biting games and the possible rise of Echo Fox. The top scoring players of week 5 were Wildturtle (60.81 points), Reignover (52.51 points), Vizicsacsi (52.26 points), Fox (51.1 points), and Froggen (51.09 points). Here is my opinion on some good pickups for week 6 of the LCS.

Top:

Safe Pick 1:

Huni: There’s not much to say as to why Huni is my first safe pick for toplane. For one, he’s on Immortals, the undefeated number one team in the North American LCS, and they have no signs of slowing down. He also has yet to score less than 30 fantasy points all split. But as to why he’s a safe pick specifically for this week is that Immortals is facing off against Renegades; the last place 1-9 team in the NA LCS. And Team Liquid (5-5), a team which while recently on the rise, struggled to keep up their momentum last week against Cloud 9. I expect Huni to get at least 20 points in the game against Team Liquid, and if the game against Renegades doesn’t end too fast; another 20 points.

Safe Pick 2:

Kikis: G2, tied for first place with H2K in the EU LCS is another top tier team. Kikis hasn’t scored less than 30 fantasy points since week 3. This week G2 will face off against Fnatic (6-4) and the tied for last place, Roccat (1-9). The last time G2 faced Fnatic in week 3 Kikis only scored 11.7 fantasy points. I believe this week will be different as the 3 weeks in between has proven G2 as a number one team, while Fnatic would be a more mid-tier team. Gaining their wins off of the lower placed teams, and unable to win against more superior teams.

Sleeper Pick 1:

Darshan: While Darshan is not a sleeper pick in the sense that he is on a bad team. He just is not a high scorer in fantasy LCS, but this week will be his week to show up in fantasy. CLG (6-4) is up against the previously mentioned Renegades, which should mean high points for Darshan as he is laning against Renegades toplaner Flaresz, who is nothing to write home about. And in the second game CLG with face off against Team Impulse (4-6). And although Impulse is not a “bad” team per-say, they are nowhere near the skill of CLG, though they can put up a fight. I predict this game will be fairly long, with CLG steadily in the lead all game. Meaning high fantasy points for CLG players.

Sleeper Pick 2:

Steve: Although Elements (4-6) isn’t a very good in the EU LCS. They have an easy schedule this week, up against the other tied for last place team, Giants Gaming. Meaning high points for Elements players. And up against Origen (5-5), a team which looked strong on paper, has yet to live up to expectations this split. The Giants game will be an easy win for Elements, and the Origen game can end go either way. I think that Elements can scrap a win, or, at least, a high fantasy point game, against the struggling Origen.

Jungle:

Safe Pick 1:

Trick: Another G2 player on the list, obviously this top tier team scores high points in fantasy, with Trick being the highest scoring jungler so far this split. Trick has been scoring above 35 points week after week this split with no signs of slowing down. An easy pick for fantasy junglers.

Safe Pick 2:

Jankos: Jankos and H2K (8-2), has the potential to have a very high scoring week. With their first game being against Vitality (7-3) which will be a competitive long, high fantasy scoring game. Even if Vitality pulls out a win. And their second game this week is against Origen, which should be an easy win for the lackluster team.

Sleeper Pick 1:

Rudy: Since Rudy became the starting jungler for Unicorns of Love (7-3) in week 4 he has been scoring numbers as high as the top tier junglers in Europe, with 41.36 points in week 4 and 45.58 points in week 5. And it is expected for him to keep up these numbers week 6, while up against Vitality and Giants. Like H2K, the vitality game will be difficult and could go either way, but whoever wins it is looking to be a game with high scoring fantasy points for both teams. And the game against Giants will be an easy win for the Unicorns. But since the Unicorns always try to cleanly win their easier games the match will last long and bring a lot of fantasy points to Rudy.

Sleeper Pick 2:

Xmithie: Similar to Darshan Xmithie is both not a high fantasy scorer and on CLG. Expect Xmithie to score high points against his easy schedule, and be an easy pickup in fantasy.

Mid:

Safe Pick 1:

Fox: Unicorns of Love midlaner, Fox has been a high scorer all split for fantasy mids. And this week he is up against Vitality, fighting for first place. Fox should be able to outperform Vitalitys midlaner Nukeduck and possibly be able to get a solo kill on him. Even if Unicorns lose expect a high scoring game for Fox. The Giants will be an easy win for Unicorns and free points for anyone on their team.

Safe Pick 2:

Pobelter: The second most scoring player in fantasy LCS, with the number one spot going to his teammate, Immortals adc Doublelift, and the number three spot going to the jungler for Immortals, Reignover. Expect Pobelter and the rest of Immortals to keep scoring huge points and keep winning, no matter their schedule.

Sleeper Pick 1:

Froggen: After Froggen’s visa issues from week 1 were fixed last week he scored over 50 points, becoming one of the top 5 scoring players last week. And taking his previously 1-7 team Echo Fox to 3-7, with that 1 win also only being won while he was on the team in week 1. Echo Fox with Froggen and their main roster is looking strong and Froggen is looking as good as ever. This week would normally be a high scoring week for the teams facing Echo Fox, with this week being Team Liquid and Team Impulse. But Echo Fox is no longer looking like a losing team after finally getting their main roster, and I expect Echo Fox to win against both these teams and for Froggen to score high points and get solo kills against both the midlaners.

Sleeper Pick 2:

Eika: Elements is nowhere near a top team, and Eika is nowhere near a top midlaner. But against Giants Eika and Elements should easily win and score a good amount of points. And although Origen is a slightly better team, they’re on a clear downslope and on paper this game looks like a stomp in Origens favor, the way things are now Eika has a chance to win the game and score big.

Support:

Safe Pick 1:

Adrian: The highest scoring support in fantasy LCS Adrian will easily rack up points this week. If you’re not getting in by now, anybody on Immortals will score big points.

Safe Pick 2:

Hybrid: G2 performs every week, and with an easy schedule this week it looks likes it will continue. Even if Fnatic upsets, G2’s botlane outperforms Fnatic’s botlane and will score high points against them. Expect over 10 assists from Hybrid this week easily, which means an extra 2 points.

Sleeper Pick 1:

Big: Echo Fox had a number of Visa issues this split, and Big was the only player who played every week. Because of this Big has had time to build synergy with every Echo Fox player, while also being able to learn how the other LCS teams play. And with Echo Fox being on a big rise, and not having a particularly terrible schedule, Big has a possibility to score high points this week.

Sleeper Pick 2:

Aphromoo: CLG support Aphromoo is a consistent scorer though never score high. This week though he has a schedule with potentially high scoring games against botlanes that are outclassed by CLG’s botlane. Expect big points from Aphromoo.

ADC:

Safe Pick 1:

Wildturtle: Wildturtle is on the best team in NA LCS, and has both the most scored points, and most average points scored per game. An easy pickup.

Safe Pick 2:

Emperor: On one of the tied for first teams in EU LCS, and with a very easy schedule this week, Emperor will rack up the fantasy points this week.

Sleeper Pick 1:

MrRallez: MrRallez is an experienced ad carry, and should pick up lots of points against Giants Gaming. Though the game against Origen will be up in the air, if Elements can get ahead or get a better team composition MrRallez should be able to pick up points against Origen.

Sleeper Pick 2:

Stixxay: CLG should score high points against Renegades and Team Impulse. And Stixxay consistently scores in the 20’s and 30’s, this week though expect to see Stixxay score in the high 30’s to low 40’s.

Team:

Safe Pick 1:

Immortals: Do I really have to talk about Immortals again? They’re undefeated, every week is a massacre for the other teams.

Safe Pick 2:

G2: They’re tied for first with H2K, but have an easier schedule than H2K.

Sleeper Pick 1:

Elements: Elements should have an easy win against Giants Gaming, with first blood. And if they win against Origen they will most likely make it a clean win, getting almost every tower and inhibitor, and probably baron and a few dragons since the game may be long.

Sleeper Pick 2:

Echo Fox: Echo Fox has been on the rise since they got their starting roster last week. And with how they’re looking expect two more wins.
