With the Red Sox and Blue Jays playing at 11 am ET today and half the league with an off day, there’s a 7 game slate two attack with 2 elite pitchers and some strong offenses to target
Top Pitchers
Noah Syndergaard (DK – $12,100, FD – $11,300) – Syndergaard, in my opinion, is a top 5 pitcher in baseball. He has been absolutely dominant this year with a ridiculous 14.54 K/9, 42% strikeout rate, and 1.36 SIERA. While those numbers with undoubtedly come down, and quite a bit, it won’t be in this matchup against the paltry Phillies. He’s the most expensive pitcher but is worth the price.
Jose Fernandez (DK – $11,300, FD – $10,700) – With Syndergaard the clear chalk on the day, Fernandez gets a tougher matchup against the 9-2 Nationals. Despite the matchup, Fernandez still has dominant stuff and should handle the Nationals lineup. With lower ownership, he makes a great GPP play.
Jake Peavy (DK – $7,300, FD – $6,400) – This is by no means a high upside play, but Peavy should turn in a solid performance today at a cheap price. He takes on a Diamonbacks lineup that is just not the same with AJ Pollock out and faces them at home in pitcher friendly AT&T Park. He won’t win you your GPP, but he should save you salary to fit in those bats that could.
Top Hitters
Joey Votto (DK – $4,600, FD – $3,900) – Jordan Lyles has bee rocked by lefties over his career and faces one of the best lefties in baseball in Joey Votto in one of the best hitters parks in baseball. Votto’s price should be over $5K on DK and $4K on FD. It’s a great matchup and he offers great value.
Miguel Sano (DK – $4,200 FD – $2,900) – He’s an elite bat and priced ridiculously cheap on FD. He has to start hitting at some point, making him a great GPP option.
