This slate doesn’t have a lot to like in the pitching department. I don’t think there is a clear-cut SP2 option, which is kinda odd for a 10 game slate. I think its almost a must to pay up for Cole on this slate.
Gerrit Cole (HOU) vs COLE: 12.2DK, 10.4FD
I could literally write what I did yesterday about Justin Verlander here. Gerrit will be getting the Rockies in Houston vice Denver. The Rockies’ k rate goes up about 5% on the road vs righties. Gerrit is by far the best pitcher on the slate with his 40% k rate vs lefties and 29% vs righties. I don’t see a reason not to play him in your cash games.
Kevin Gausman (ATL) vs MIA: 8.7DK, 7.2FD
With Justin Bour out of MIA, I will be picking on them a lot the rest of the season. They have a 23% k rate and a minuscule 103 iso vs righties over the past month. In his last start, he was able to dominate a very dangerous Milwaukee lineup piling up 8 Ks and only 1 ER over 8 IP. He has a 19% k rate vs both sides of the plate while keeping the HC to under 35%.
VALUE/PUNT OPTION
Dylan Bundy (BAL) vs NYM: 6.5DK, 7.2FD
Dylan gets to face the Mets who have a 22% k rate and a 150 iso over the last month vs righties. They just aren’t very good. Dylan has an uninspiring 19% k rate vs lefties but a very good 30% k rate vs righties. He should be a be able to easily pay off this cheap price tag.
