MLB: Fanduel DFS Lineup Advice for 5/25/16

Daily Fantasy Sports Advice for 5/25/16. This are suggestions for 50/50 and multiplier game modes!

Pitchers:

  • Jake Arrieta ($12,300) – For cash games, I think Arrieta is a no-brainer. After a remarkable season last year, he has continued his dominance this year too. Arrieta is off to an 8-0 start! He is one of the most consistent pitchers in the MLB and has a good career against the Cardinals as well. Not a single player on the Cardinals has hit a home run against him, and as a team, the Cardinals have a measly .178 batting average when facing Arrieta.
  • Jake Peavy ($5,200) – Going with two Jake’s here, both very good options. Peavy is an experienced pitcher and is much cheaper than Arrieta. He has a great matchup against the struggling Padres. The Padres have had major career-long struggles against Peavy; they have a combined average of just .156.

Catcher:

  • Brian McCann ($3,200) – Brian McCann, along with many of the other Yankee’s, has fantastic numbers against Estrada. He is 8-20 in his career against the Blue Jays’ pitcher and looks to continue his dominance in their upcoming game.

1st Base:

  • Ryan Howard ($2,300 FD) – Despite Howard’s struggles this season, he has a great matchup against Anibal Sanchez. Howard is a very cheap option, and is batting 9-31 for his career against Sanchez with two doubles and two home runs, along with eleven walks!
  • Anthony Rizzo ($3,800 FD) – At $3,800, Rizzo is a bit more pricey than Ryan Howard, but has been having a better season than Ryan Howard. He hasn’t been great this year but does have good career numbers against Carlos Martinez. Rizzo has a career average of .267 (4-15), with a double, two home runs, and six RBIs.

2nd Base:

  • Rougned Odor ($3,500 FD) – Rougned Odor has made quite the name for himself recently, after punching Blue Jays’ Jose Bautista. Odor is having a solid year, but more importantly, has a fantastic matchup against Angels pitcher Hector Santiago. Odor has amazing numbers against Santiago which include hitting 10-21 with a homer, three doubles, and four RBIs!
  • Joe Panik ($3,400) – Joe Panik is having a solid year with the San Francisco Giants, but more importantly, he has astounding numbers against opposing pitcher James Shields. Joe Panik is hitting over .500 as he is 9-17 with three doubles!
  • Starlin Castro ($2,900) – Castro is having a solid season this year, and has a very good matchup against Blue Jays’ Pitcher Marco Estrada. Castro has gone 12-27 with for doubles in his career against Estrada. He has an astonishing 1.131 OPS against him.

3rd Base:

  • Josh Donaldson ($3,800) – Coming off of an MVP award last season, Donaldson is having a good, not great season. He has a good matchup against Yankee’s pitcher Nova, though. Donaldson is 7-16 against Nova with a double and a walk.

  • Adrian Beltre ($3,200) – Beltre is a viable option at third base. He is inexpensive and is a very good power hitter. Career wise, he is 8-34 against Hector Santiago with three home runs, three doubles, and six walks, along with an OPS over .900.

Shortstop:

  • Jonathan Villar ($3,600) – Villar is a fantastic option at shortstop because he is facing a horrendous Atlanta Braves team. The Braves have Mike Foltynewics on the mound against the Brewers and he has been absolutely terrible as of late. He went just three innings, allowing seven hits and five runs against the Pirates during his last outing. Villar is a tremendous southpaw option at shortstop.
  • Corey Seager ($4,100) – Seager is an emerging MLB all-star. He had a slow start, but as of late, he is playing very well. In his last twenty games, he has five home runs and looks to add another homer against Reds pitcher Dan Straily.

Outfielders:

  • Mike Trout ($4,900 FD) – Mike Trout is having yet another outstanding year, hitting well above .300. Despite being pricey, he is well worth it, as he has phenomenal career numbers against Rangers Pitcher Colby Lewis. Mike Trout is hitting 13-33 with an average of .394 and four home runs!
  • Melky Cabrera ($3,200) – Cabrera is a solid option at Outfield as he is 9-19 with 3 extra-base hits in his career vs Corey Kluber.
  • Jose Bautista ($4,600) – Bautista always remains a good option. He is one of the best hitters in the league and has a good career against opposing pitcher Nova.
  • Carlos Beltran ($3,500) – Carlos Beltran has an excellent career against Blue Jays’ pitcher Marco Estrada. He has a career against him hitting 7-24 with three home runs and three walks.
