MLB FanDuel Gut Feeling 6/10

I think I can speak for a lot of people in saying that last night wasn’t a shining moment in picking MLB rosters. I personally had four people go 0-for something, which has never happened to me. I saw all I needed to see when I looked at the Padres box score and saw that Matt Kemp was the only player in the starting lineup not to get a hit (0-5). Even their pitcher got a hit!! Combine that with a very sub-par outing from Kluber and it got ugly fast. Anyway, today is a new day and here is my gut feel for today’s games. As always, be on the lookout for any scratches since I post these rosters early in the day.

Pitcher: Jered Weaver $7,700
I think his last start against the Yankees was an aberration and he should get back on track against an inconsistent Rays offense.

Catcher: Matt Wieters $3,100
He’s gotten a hit in every game since his return from the DL and has driven in at least on run and drawn a walk in every other game. And last night he did neither so he’s due to have a productive night.

First Baseman: Chris Davis $3,100
Despite going 0-4 last night, I like his chances against a pitcher in Porcello who’s been up and down this year. I expect the Orioles in general to have a good game tonight so it makes sense to have their slugger in your lineup.

Second Baseman: Jason Kipnis $4,700
He’s been a machine in terms of getting on base recently.  I expect the Indians to rebound after a rough game yesterday and Kipnis is usually a contributor whenever the Indians score runs.

Third Baseman: Aramis Ramirez $2,200
My original choice here was David Freese, but with him coming down with a hamstring injury last night I decided to go with Ramirez.  A good hitter with potential power at a very low price.  This allows me to upgrade my outfield some.

Shortstop: Xander Bogaerts $2,600
Has reached base each of his last six games.  Boston’s offense has to turn around eventually and bring him home right? Right?

Outfielder: AJ Pollock $4,500
Here is where my upgrade comes in.  With Freese at third I originally had Brandon Moss in this spot.  But Pollock is in a lineup that’s hitting better and I have a good feeling about him.  This is my Ultimate Gut Call.

Outfielder: Adam Jones $3,400
Jones rounds out my three Orioles for tonight’s lineup.  After a pedestrian May, Jones has gone back to his All-Star hitting self in June and I expect that to continue tonight against Porcello and the Sox

Outfielder: Starling Marte $3,700
I complete my roster with Starling Marte.  He homered last night and has a very favorable matchup against a struggling Kyle Lohse.  He may not homer in back to back games but a couple of hits and an RBI or two is definitely in the realm of possibility
